INTRODUCTION
WHAT IS READ180? Welcome to Read180, an English Intervention class! My name is Ms. Xu (pronounced "Miss Shu") and I will be your Read180 teacher for this year. I'm excited to get to know everyone and I hope we have a wonderful year of learning and growing together. Read180 is a Class where students improve their reading skills with skyrocketing results! Students last year improved about 2 grade levels on average. A few exceptional students even grew about 4 grade levels in one year!
In the first part, everyone in class is learning together as a whole group. The teacher leads everyone in a 20-minute lesson.
WHAT WILL I READ IN READ180? Students will be reading from a workbook called the RBook. Every student will have one issued in the beginning of the year and keep them in the classroom.
Students will also read many independent reading books from the Read180 classroom library throughout the year. Students choose their books according to their reading level.

Students are responsible for replacing broken materials later on in the year. If students are unable to get these items in time to be prepared for any class, Ms. Xu may have supplies ready to sell them after school. Please see Ms. Xu during her Office Hours only. (See Office Hours on page 9)
