r Purpose: The students will take this assessment for the purpose of tracking their understanding the fundamentals and basics of forming and writing an argumentative paper. The assessment will include true and false questions, multiple-choice questions, matching, and fill in the blank. The different assessment methods will adhere to the students knowledge of how to validate a good thesis, validate research information to support a given point as well as the students knowledge of paper structure, as well as identify audience and context. Throughout the assessment students will be completing a self-evaluation of their own abilities. Once the Test is scored the students will receive their test back to analyze what they did and did not know on the assessment and correct their results on the handout given. Standards and Benchmarks: CE 1.4.5 Develop organizational structures appropriate to the purpose and message, and use transitions that produce a sequential or logical ow of ideas. CE 1.4.6 Use appropriate conventions of textual citation in different contexts (e.g., different academic disciplines and workplace writing situations). CE 1.3.5 From the outset, identify and assess audience expectations and needs; consider the rhetorical effects of style, form, and content based on that assessment; and adapt communication strategies appropriately and effectively.
