Performance Tasks, Projects Performance Task: Postcard storyboard My New Life Imagine: You have decided to go live in India for a couple months and live with a with a nice Indian host family during your stay. Since you have been living in India for a while now, your family is starting to wonder what your new life is like and how it is different from life back in Canada. You decide to send your family a postcard for each day you are in India describing a different part of your new life. You will then use your postcards to create a story about your new life in India. At the end we will share our postcard stories and you will tell us what you think it would be like to really live in India! Step 1: Planning Think about things you want to tell your family in your postcards Some examples: What kind of transportation do you use in India? How do you get around? Do you live in a city? Town? Or Village? What kinds of food do you eat in India? How is it different from Canadian food? What types of clothes do you wear in India? Are you learning to speak a new language? What is the weather like in India? What do you do for fun in India? What is school like in India? What kinds of celebrations have you seen? What are some traditions in India? What kinds of jobs or chores do you do? What kind of jobs does your host family do? Brochure Students will create a brochure to try and convince other people to visit to India where would you recommend they go? What are some cool things to see and visit in India? Map assignment- track our journey in India / progress locate areas and regions on the map. The map should include the main regions and their characteristics. Students my draw or place pictures on the map to represent the areas we have studied.
