Cysts of valleculla otherwise called as epiglottic mucous retention cysts are rare.

They are more dangerous in infants and children compared to adults. Infants are at higher risk of airway obstruction and even death can occur. In adults they are usually asymptomatic and are diagnosed incidentally on routine laryngeal examination. However they are known for recurrence. But appreciable no of cases reported of vallecular cysts may be associated with severe infection with or without abscess formation and foreign body sensation ,Difficulty for swallowing or airway obstruction .Henceforth surgical management of vallacular cysts is required. I here by presenting one case report operated in our institute.
