They are eager to listen to the story and learn new words. Type of learners: 2 Visual learners, 5 kinesthetic learners and 1 auditory learner. 2. State the Standards and Objectives Standards: Starter: Teacher will choose an event from the story (Jack and the Beanstalk), then teacher will ask students to talk about the event, say what they think will happen, teacher will give clues of what really happened. Procedure: A song will be sung to arouse children

children will be placed in a semi- circle setting during the starter teacher will introduce pictures and words relating to the story teacher will present a PowerPoint reading for the students teacher and students will read out loud the story and discuss the events in the story

Objectives: To identify words within the story and develop reading and vocabulary skills Learn new words e.g. Giant and Beanstalk Learn how to link words to the correct picture/character

4. Utilize technology, media, and materials

Laptop is for showing the PowerPoint. Flashcards are for the new words that they will be introduced to before reading. The use of visual aids is to help the children link and recognized the words to the characters and pictures. The PowerPoint is use to show the story and help develop their reading skills and the work sheets are there to reinforce the activity and to assist in the evaluation process.

Step one a warm up song Step two introduction of lesson Step three children will be introduced to new words Step four children will read and listen to the story Children will be divided into three groups based on their level of reading ability and given activities that is suitable for their level

6. Evaluate The children were actively involved in the reading activity. Children were able to follow instructions given in the hands on activities in their groups. Children who were not able to identify words where given the words to learn at home. Revise

For homework write a sentence that they remembered from the story in their own words.

Recap the lesson and see how well the children understand the words what they learned.
