Specifying Learning Objectives: Be clear about the certain goals you want the students to learn by using organized bodies of knowledge or task specialization. -Prepare Study Guides: Students should use graphic organizers to organize their information they will be learning. The internet and their textbook will be sources they use. -Formatting Student Teams: Teams of students are formed ranging from cultural background, achievement levels, and gender. -Supplementing Expert Presentations: Student experts will present the information they have learned to the students
-Assigning Experts: Students are assigned a subsection of the material to study in depth -Information Gathering: Experts gather information on their topic in great depth. -Expert Meetings: Experts discuss and prepare presentations of the material they were assigned to. -Peer Instruction: Experts present their information -Review and Closure: Information is summarized and reviewed
-Review the material as a whole class to reassure the students understood the lesson -Ask questions to the students on the material -Have the students fill in the study guides
This model is important to understand because students are becoming experts of certain material and then teaching it to other students in the class.
