Cynthia Lawrence REFLECTIVE WRITING: Reflective Portfolio Self Assessment

Entries: The piece shows exceptional reflection. There is a clear reason why the author chose this particular piece, it is 2-3 paragraphs in length, and it shows in-depth thinking about what the author learned. (4 points) Entry #1 This piece shows adequate reflection, but it is not as indepth as I believe it could have been. (2 points) 2 - This piece was difficult to reflect on because it was just a timeline that showed where I started on as a writer. 4 - This reflection is on a draft I did on a piece that I was considering doing for my Multi-genre project. It turned out to be terrible and I didnt use it, but I chose it to show my growth as a writer. 4 - This piece was an example of the revision stage of one of my pieces that did end up in my Multigenre project. I used some of the techniques we learned in class to revise it. 4 - This was one of the assignments we did in class. It shows my use of mentor texts to enhance writing. 4 - My last two pieces I chose to put in here to show how I still need to grow as a writer. I need to better myself and these are some ways I could stretch myself. 4 - This, my final submission, is another piece that could be extended into more pieces. I think my reflection shows how I could go on with this strain of writing. This piece shows poor reflection. I can tell the author didnt take the time or care to reflect about his/her learning. Why do you feel you deserve this grade? I feel that I deserve this grade because I have grown as a writer and I feel that my self-reflection reflects how I have grown. It shows the beginning of my writing when I was writing terribly and moves to my higher quality pieces that I did towards the end of the semester. It also shows some of my writing process and how I changed pieces as I went.
