To Whom It May Concern, Alyssa Cicero held an intern position focusing on public relations, marketing and fundraising at Big Brothers Big Sisters from June to August 2012. She worked closely with our Chief Development Officer in the area of special events management. Leading a team of two other interns, Alyssa successfully directed the implementation of the Big Amazing Race a new fundraising event in which teams completed mental and physical challenges at locations throughout downtown Joliet. Her specific duties included event planning, governmental relations, event supplies, sponsorship fulfillment, event marketing, database management, vendor relations, venue and site development, volunteer cultivation, and more. She interfaced with the City of Joliets Office of the Mayor, the Joliet Police Department and the Will County Center for Economic Development/Joliet City Center Partnership. She consistently demonstrated sound judgment in her day-to-day work and was able to think critically, make decisions, and take action with minimal supervision. Alyssa possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, and can both effectively lead and collaborate with others. She utilizes time effectively and is extremely well respected by both her supervisors and coworkers. She will be an asset to any employer who hires her. Alyssas dependable, responsible and professional demeanor made her an integral member of our fund development team.
