Career Highlights
United States Navy (20012004 Honorable Discharge): Aviation Machinists Mate (Helicopters) Performed helicopter maintenance, and conducted preflight and post flight inspections on the H-2 and H-6 airframes. Qualified as a shift supervisor of the line shack, responsible for ensuring the completion of all daily turnaround inspections, basic maintenance, and the launch and recovery of squadron helicopters. I additionally served as a flight line coordinator for two months, a demanding, multi-tasked, position of responsibility with enormous safety and equipment casualty implications. Both of these positions required intricate administrative record keeping and tracking. I was recognized as "plane captain of the quarter" on two occasions. Additionally, I earned both Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Air Warfare Specialist designations/pins. Michigan National Guard (2006-2011 Honorable Discharge): Utilities Equipment Repairer During this Army service, I became Licensed in HV/AC in 2006, and maintained Combat Life Saving (CLS) certification throughout. I was tasked with maintaining air conditioning in vehicles while deployed to Iraq from July 2007 to July 2008. Additionally, I cross-trained in light-wheeled mechanics, and was responsible for preforming preventive and corrective maintenance on vehicles. I was also responsible for the administrative requirements of the inventory for all Battalion equipment, and Battalion HQS duty rosters and personnel accountability. * While pursuing my degree, I additionally worked part-time jobs at Anytime Fitness and Applebees, leaving on good terms in both instances.
