-Identify Inquiry Question and Learning Objectives: Question must involve a variable that can be manipulated and an effect that can be measured. A variable is a quantity that can take on different values. -Specify Learning Objectives: Learning how to use critical thinking skills and how to solve problems will be the main goals. -Data Gathering: Strategies will come from the students as to how to gather information and teacher will provide an ample amount of guidance over the students to make sure they are gathering the information correctly.
-Identify the Question: the question that is trying to be solved is identified by the teacher and the students -generate Hypothesis: Students create a hypothesis to lead their attempt to solve the problem. -Gather and Display Information: Students gather information related to their hypothesis and prepare to share the information. -Assess Hypotheses and Generalize: Students organize the information based on their hypothesis and create a discussion guided by the teacher
-Assess to see if the students learned the scientific method -Have the students discuss their information they have learned and researched based on their hypothesis. -Ask questions to see if the students have learned how to solve a problem.
-Students will have learned how to solve a problem -Students will have learned how to create a hypothesis and how to add a deeper understanding to the hypothesis they have created -Learning how to use the scientific method
This is important to understand because it helps students understand how to create a hypothesis and to use the scientific method.
