STAD Model These lesson plans pertain to the STAD teaching model.

The first lesson plan provided deals with a Science activity and the second lesson plan is designated for Language Arts. The first lesson plan is designated for student teams to work together to provide information on the food making process and photosynthesis of plants. The students are brought together in groups. Students are in group for the purpose of teaching each other, working with each other, and discussion. After the students have worked together and completed a worksheet, the students were given a test to measure the amount of information they have learned from their group sessions. This lesson follows the STAD model pretty well. The students are formed into diverse groups to follow team transition, discussion, and to help each other learn the content, and assessment followed the lesson. For the lesson plan, I would have liked to see more detail, especially in the assessment portion. I would have liked to have seen the area for improvement points. The second lesson plan is designated for Language Arts. The students are learning Indicative and Conditional moods. At the beginning of the lesson, the teacher went over the previous lesson they completed and taught the current lesson of the verbs. The students were then broken up into diverse groups and worked on worksheets and discussed factors of the lesson. The students worked together to understand the lesson clearly. After the group work was completed, the students were given an assessment to measure the knowledge they learned. This testing was done on an individual basis. This lesson followed the model with high strengths because the lesson was taught as a whole, the students were broken up into groups for team transition, and there were assessments given after to provide any improvement points on their base scores.
