BP > BPO

BP BPO > BP

BPO

Any game of football, regardless of formation or playing style, can be divided into 4 phases: 1. Ball Possession (BP) : this is the phase when our team has the ball and we are attacking; 2. Ball Possession Opponent (BPO) : this is the phase when the opponent has the ball and we are defending; 3. Transition to defence (BP>BPO) : this is the phase when we lose the ball and must switch from attacking to defending; 4. Transition to attack (BPO>BP) this is the phase when we win the ball back and switch from defending to attacking. We call these phases the four main moments

Training timing.
6:30-6:50pm The Beginning Dribbling, Juggling, headers, knees step overs, toe taps, etc. 6:50-7:25pm The Middle 1v1, First touch, Passing and receiving , Running with the ball. One per training session.

7:25-7:45pm The Game. Play game with rules. ie. 2 touch only, 5 passes = goal.
7:45-7:55pm FREE PLAY. 7:55-8:00pm Pack up and a quick recap.

Game day.
All players to be at ground at least 30min before kick off. Greet every player and talk to them about how they feel and what is going on. General discussion. Let the kids have some time to talk about the night before, games they play etc. (get that out of their system.) Get them together and have a chat about the game today. Start to switch on. Warm up, ball each, dribbling juggling, headers, get them dirty. TELL them to think about what they have to do, psych them up. Keeper to get a feel for the ball, shots for the rest. Call them in, Captain chosen and set up. Start from Keeper, Clear instructions only 3 for each area. Defenders Midfielders, Attackers. Collective as a team give them 3 tasks to do. Mine are: 1. First touch (control the ball) 2. Play the way your facing. 3. Lose the ball chase it and get it back.

Yours in Football.
