II. Materials for Learning Activities The students will need a pencil, a computer (per pair), and a student activity sheet. The teacher will need a computer.

III. Procedures for Learning Activities Introduction (5 minutes): The teacher will introduce the new unit on the Revolutionary War to the students. The teacher will log into the Weebly site and explain that they will be taking a virtual field trip through the Revolutionary War, also known as the American Revolution, and exploring different aspects of it. The teacher will quickly preview the website with the students and show them how to log in and navigate through the site. 1

Instructional strategies (30 minutes): The teacher will hand out the Revolutionary War Scavenger Hunt worksheet to the students and explain that they will be working with a partner to complete the worksheet. The students will log into the Weebly site and work with a partner to complete the activity. Summary (7-10 minutes): The whole class will come back together after completing their worksheets to discuss what information they learned about the Revolutionary War on the Weebly website. The teacher will discuss with the students how they liked/disliked learning the new information through personal exploration as opposed to direct instruction from the teacher.

IV. Assessment Observations and anecdotal notes will be made throughout the working process to see which students are working cooperatively in a pair and to make sure they are appropriately using the technology to complete their task. A formative assessment will be to collect the student work and look over what types of answers and information they found from the website to see how well they understood the content from the Weebly.

V. Differentiation and Accommodations Differentiation I would create three leveled worksheets to differentiate for the levels of my students. If I have a lot of ELL students in my classroom, then I would create a worksheet that had more pictures for asking questions instead of lengthy questions written out. For my higher students I would create questions with a lot more open-ended questions that went into further details and higher-order thinking. This lesson appeals to visual-spatial learners because of the maps that are on the Weebly website and there are graphics and photographs. Musical learners are also addressed with the primary source that is a song that students can choose to explore.

Accommodations Scaffolding from the teacher will be provided as needed within pairs.

VI. Technology Integration The students will be using a computer to log in to the Weebly website to explore information about the Revolutionary War.
