Thomas Basini Elizabeth Hinnant English 1101 24 November 2013 Rhetorical Analysis Reflection The second major paper

we completed this semester was the rhetorical analysis. In the analysis we told why we thought the text was the way it was in excruciating detail. Every single thing about the text had to be described, and backed up with a supporting argument. This was the hardest assignment all semester. Not a single stone could have been unturned. The text I chose was a Mello Yello bottle. I decided to pick something that would give me a challenge and not be as straight forward as other texts. I spent a lot of time just staring at the bottle taking notes. After the notes it was just a matter of putting the notes into paragraph form. I did however, struggle with not using personal pronouns. Writing in third person was a good learning experience though. Because of this assignment, Ive started impulsively thinking why things are made the way they are. This paper taught me to look for reasoning behind things I never would have thought about before. I realized that way more ideas go into a simple product, than I ever expected. As an engineering major I will definitely benefit from this paper. It will help me look further into the products I design, and how to reach out to a bigger audience.
