The point of this assignment was to build an assessment of an individual.

In this assessment we had to detail different aspects of the individuals life, social setting, an identified problem, and a short intervention to help alleviate the issues that the individual believes should be addressed. I feel that there a few competencies covered by this intervention, such as helping students to apply critical thinking to inform and communicate professional judgments. It also helped us to apply social work principles to guide professional practice, and to identify as a professional social worker and conduct oneself accordingly. I feel that I met these competencies well as I was able to contact an individual and professionally detail their situation well, as well as using my own experience and knowledge to help guide the process efficiently.

The intent of this exercise is to lay out a clear and concise understanding of the problems being faced by my client, %ark &enix, and to formulate a plan of action for him to take. %ark has been coming to my agency for the past four months, and is facing a handful of issues in his life. %ark has been very active with me in trying to better his situation, and seems to be very committed to making his life better. %ark has a two year old daughter, that he shares joint custody of with the mother. %arks problems are very manageable, and as long as he sticks to the plan that we are setting forth for him, there is no reason that he should not be able to fix his current situation. The name used is a pseudonym, which is being used to maintain confidentiality of the client.

Problem Statement: %ark is unemployed and searching for a job. 'e has been unemployed for a prolonged period of time, and he will run out of benefits soon.

Goal for Identified Change: %ark states that his main goal is, (To find a good enough job to provide for my daughter and I.)

Objectives: *+ Identify %arks personal skill set. ,+ -et assistance with the preparation of his resume. .+ Turn his resume into as many local businesses as possible that match his skill set. /+ 0o a follow up visit with all of the different businesses that he put a resume in at.

Conclusion: 7nce %ark has obtained gainful employment, there will be little reason for us to meet on a regular basis. I believe that it would be beneficial to have two monthly follow up visits after his goals have been achieved. These visits will serve to ensure that he has stuck to his goals, and has completed them successfully. &ollowing successful completion of the follow up visits, services with %ark will no longer be necessary to his situation, so our client"practitioner relationship will be terminated. If he has not yet gained employment, the only further service that I could provide for him, would be to recommend that he continue following the plan, and starting over dropping off his resume and doing follow ups.
