NCDPI Professional Development Calendar This online calendar lists informational and training events for educators that are sponsored by the Department of Public Instruction, other government agencies and non-profit agencies. The purpose is to provide equitable access to job opportunities in North Carolina schools and professional growth opportunities related to either the North Carolina Standard Course of Study or the State Board's Strategic Priorities. North Carolina Professional Development Directory This directory provides information about organizations offering professional development to teachers, administrators, and staff of North Carolina public schools. Please direct questions about specific courses and workshops to the provider in question.

Appalachia Regional Comprehensive Center (ARCC) One of 16 technical assistance centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education; provides intensive technical assistance to Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia to address the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requirements and meet student achievement goals. North Central Regional Educational Laboratory (NCREL) This regional laboratory, sponsored by the Federal Government, specializes in the educational applications of research and technology. Southeastern Regional Vision for Education (SERVE) at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro This regional laboratory is a university-based research, development, dissemination, evaluation, and technical assistance center that supports and promotes teaching and learning excellence in the Pre-kindergarten to Grade 12 education community. American Association of School Administrators (AASA) This is the largest national organization representing school administrators. It provides information on topics of interest, including legislative information, to school leaders of all job descriptions. AASA publishes a calendar, The Conference Daily, and a job bulletin. National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented Neag Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) ASCD is a membership organization dedicated to advancing best practices and policies for the success of each learner. They provide expert and innovative solutions in professional development, capacity building, and educational leadership essential to the way educators learn, teach, and lead. US Department of Education RAND Education RAND researchers have policy and hands-on experience in education and training. Research includes K-12 assessment and accountability, school reform, teachers and teaching, higher education, military education and training, worker training, and substance-abuse prevention in schools.
