(7:00-8:25) Argument Essay Problems caused from obesity Obesity is one of the major reasons why people should lose weight. Losing weight is one of the best methods possible to prevent obesity. People have a hard time trying to lose weight because of their obese problem. There are many dangers that can be caused because of obesity, which is why people should really consider losing weight. There is a lot to consider in obesity both physically, and emotionally. It was mentioned in the WebMD website that, Heart disease and strokes are the leading causes of both death and disabilities for people in the U.S. Overweight people are more likely to have high blood pressure, a major risk factor in both heart disease and strokes, than people who are not overweight. High blood levels of cholesterol can also increase the risk of heart disease and can often be linked to being overweight (WebMD Medical Reference). This essay will list these dangers that could be caused through obesity. One of the things that obesity can cause is a heart problem. Heart attacks for example, may be a result of it because of the weight that someone has. In NHLBI.NIH.gov it states that, High blood pressure (HPB) and high cholesterol can be caused by the type of food that people eat. If their pressure rises and stays high over period of time, it can damage the body in many ways. About 1 in 3 adults in the United States have HBP. HPB, itself usually has no signs or symptoms. A person can have it for years without knowing it. During this time, HPB can damage their heart, blood vessels, kidneys, and other parts of

Chavez their body. Blood pressure doesnt stay the same all the time. It lowers as someone sleeps and rises when they wake up. Blood pressure also rises when theyre excited, nervous, or active. If ones numbers stay above normal most of the time, theyre at risk for serious health problems. The risk grows as blood pressure numbers rise. Pre-hypertension means you may end up with HBP, unless the person takes steps to prevent it (NHLBI). As it was stated a persons body can really be damaged by HPB. The results from it could really be harmful to someone. According to the American Heart Association, obesity is a major risk factor for developing coronary heart disease, which can lead to a heart attack or stroke. People who are overweight are at a greater risk of suffering a heart attack before the age of 45. Obese adolescents have an even greater chance of having a heart attack before the age of 35 than non-obese adolescents. If a person is overweight, losing 10-15 pounds can reduce their risk of developing heart disease. If someone exercises regularly, the risk of developing heart disease falls even more (American Heart Disease). This is why losing at least a small amount of weight can reduce their chances of developing heart diseases or stoke. If people weigh more than they should, then heart problems will usually lower down naturally. If someones heart were lowered then people would be at least a little healthier. Another problem that could be caused from obesity is diabetes. Obesity is part of insulin resistance. According to the World Health Organization, more than 90 percent of diabetes patients worldwide have type 2 diabetes. Being overweight or obese contributes to the developing of diabetes by making cells more resistant to the effects of insulin. A weight loss of 15-20 pounds can help someone decrease their risk of developing

Chavez diabetes (Mediweightlossclinics.com) Diabetes can be a result of the food and the sugar that someone has if they dont take care of themselves. Back pain is also one of the results that could be caused from obesity. If someone has excessive weight it can cause troubles to the spine. Spinal injury or structural damage could be caused from the excessive weight that a person may have. Other problems that excessive weight could potentially cause are osteoporosis, lower back pain, arthritis, and also osteoarthritis. To prevent from anything happening people should lose weight to help them prevent any back pain resulting from obesity. Overall, these are only a few of the reasons why someone should lose weight in order to prevent damages from obesity. Obesity can really cause serious problems to health as mentioned in this paper. This is why I strongly advise everyone to lose weight. Obesity is not a subject that can be taken lightly; it should be dealt with much precaution. I would also not wish for anyone to be obese and not lose weight, because losing weight can help prevent a lot of things as research has shown.
