Dear Community Member, Attached, per your request, is the redacted report of the investigation conducted by the law rm of Ratwik, Roszak and Maloney, P.A. into the complaints made to the Minnesota Department of Education earlier this year concerning CSE. In accordance with the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, data relating to unsustained allegations, data pertaining to employees who were not subject to any complaints, and data that would reveal condential sources were redacted as these are private data under the Act. The investigation centered around seven allegations. The investigator concluded that the evidence did not support four of the allegations. He found that one allegation was partially substantiated by the evidence, and two allegations were substantiated by the evidence. The CSE Board of Directors met in closed door sessions on three separate occasions to consider the ndings of the investigator and to implement an employee improvement plan for the Superintendent for the 2013 - 2014 School year to bring about changes to improve the organization as it relates to the process of mandatory reporting of child abuse or neglect, the conduct of the food service program, and the supervision of CSE employees. The CSE Board of Directors is very proud of all our outstanding scholars and educators. Their achievements are exemplied by the positive MMR score for the 2012 - 2013 school year and the growth progress shown in the recent NWEA test scores taken in the fall of 2013. CSE is condent in our administration, our staff and our teachers ability to lead the school. We are committed to CSEs mission to create a world-class learning environment for our students, and are condent that the staff and students remain focused on their pursuit of academic success. Respectfully, Patti Hessling CSE Board of Directors, Chair
