ASSURE Lesson Plan Emily Phillips Zoo-phonic Alphabet Lesson Letter recognition, and sound pronunciation, Kindergarten Zoo-phonic alphabet letters, space for the students to be able to put the letter, word, or alaphabet together Print off the zoo-phonic alphabet letters and characters that go with them 20-30 minutes depending on how the kid is with his or her letters, how much time each individual student spends on the letter or letters that they are struggling with. Informal Assessment- The student telling me a word that begins with the letter Formal Assessment- Making sure the student put the alphabet back together in the correct order R.WS.00.03 understand the alphabetic principle, that sounds in words are expressed by the letters of the alphabet R.WS.00.04 use grapho-phonemic (letter-sound) cues to recognize a few one-syllable words when presented completely out of context. Methods Having the students that are struggling with sound pronunciation and letter recognition put the alphabet in order for me using the zoo-phonic alphabet squares, then tell me the letter, the sound it makes, and a word that starts with the letter

Media & Materials Zoo-phonic alphabet Differentiation The students have to differentiate between the letters, the sound they make, the pronunciation, and recognizing what sound goes with what letter Teacher Preparation Make sure that the other students in the classroom have something that they can be working on while I take the students out in the hallway Have everything organized and ready for the students with all the zoo-phonic characters and letters there Utilize media and materials (Procedures) Lesson Procedures Take individual students out into the hallway that were struggling with sound pronunciation and letter recognition and they had to put the alphabet in order for me using the zoo-phonic alphabet squares, then tell me the letter, the sound it made, and a word that starts with the letter
