Relations as between master and servant, father
. and son,

Man _ always cherishes the desire that he may attain
happiness and that pain and suffering may not befall
him. The reason for this is that Surat is of the form of
bliss and the mind, too, has had an experience of
happiness pertaining to a very high plane. But in this
region, there is very little happiness and that, too, endures
for a very short duration and is accompanied by pain and
suffering. Apart from this, happiness is dependent on
some object and means. This dependence is due to the
accumulation of covers on Surat. When the covers are
removed, Surat will become of the form of the Lord and
all-bliss.. To remove these covers and bocome all-bliss
and all-knowledge is what constitutes redemption.
The way to do this is to practise Surat-Shabd
Yoga. 24-10-1938
‘The mind is very lethargic by nature. It pays no heed
to Parmarth and is careless about it. The reason is that
it remains preoccupied day and nigbt with worries and
anxieties about worldly matters. One should, therefore,
remain alert all the time and keep a watch over the mind.
There is a deficiency in love, faith and Saran. Hence,
one should particularly try to strengthen one’s Saran.
In order to strengthen Saran, one should have an
unflinching faith that whatever happens, does so by the
Lord’s Mauj, and in that alone lies the greatest good.
One should give up worldly cares and be more concerned
about Parmarth. A yearning will be awakened thereby,
and through yearning, barriers will give way and love
will be engendered. With the dawning of love, the path
will become easy and smooth. 30-10-1938
The body, the mind, the senses, etc. are all enemies of
Surat, and they all keep it entangled here. Sophists had no
idea of the kind of obstacles they’ create. They were
deceived. What they regard as spiritual bliss, is nothing
but a pleasure of ‘body and mind which they taste
Similarly, those who renounce everything and dwell in
forests and mountains, are ‘also in a state of delusion.
So long as Surat is not ‘disengaged from body and mind,
success in Parmarth cannot be attained. 2-11-1938,

Surat is true and its Lord is also true, that is, the essence
of both of them is one and the same. Hence, their union
is possible. All other things, like the body, mind, etc.,
are incompatible. For making internal progress, one has
to take the body and the mind along with oneself, but
they will be left behind at their respective levels and
Surat, after becoming free, will proceed onward all alone
and unite with its Lord. 11-11-1938
Unless one has grown dissatisfied and discontented with
one’s present condition and with this region, one can
neither have a desire for attaining a higher stage or region
nor will one make any efforts for attaining it. Whatever
latent energy there is in the iva for attaining pleasure,
bliss and knowledge, it should become all-bliss, all-
knowledge and all-spirituality, It is then that he wiil
become fully satisfied and at peace. This is possible
only on reaching Sat Desh by practising Surat Shahd
Yoga. 13-11-1938
There can be no haste in Parmarth. So Jong as the covers
of Mana and Maya are not cast off and teaderness does
not set in, harm, damage and pain will be caused by
elevating Surat forcibly. Radhasoami Dayal will ordain
His Mauj for the withdrawal and ascension of Surat in
accordance with the Adhikaér He finds in a particular Jiva.
One should, hence, conform to Mauj. 16 11-1938

Brahmand, they will have Darshan of the full moon of

Obstacles created by Kal 11-12-1938
Go and take your seat at the door of the Lord, viz., the
eye-door, and call out the Lord, that is, perform repetition
of the Name. By so doing, the form of thejLord will be seen
reflected in the mirror there, and you will meet the Lord,
and Jove will dawn on you. 14-12-1938
Pind and Brahmand are both prison-houses. Those who
secured access to Brabmand, did attain a very high status
and were the recipients of great bliss, but they remained
inKal and Maya’s prison. By Surat-Shabd Yoga alone
can one secure release from this prison-house and reach
the region of pure spirituality. 18-12-1938
Every activity proceeds through love. Currents of love
issue: forth befitting the plane whose. ego the Jiva has
assumed. Surat’s energy accompanies the current of
love. The lower planes are impure. On establishing a
bond of love for objects thereof, Surat’s descent below
and diffusion outside takes place and baseness,
