Ms. Lemmon conducted a lesson on Indian Tribes. The students had constructed a chart with 5 tribes and their characteristics. These were reviewed. The lesson focused on resources, natural, capital and human. Flipcharts were used to discuss the different ones, current examples and Indian examples. Photos were shown from the overhead computer machine and students had to try to match the tribe and the resource. Students were then given a foldable with the three different types of resources and they cut apart various a sheet with the names of various items and students had to categorize the items by type of resource. The definitions were also on a sheet to be sorted. The SOL was written on the foldable as well as the title of the activity. Students who finished the sort activity early could illustrate the 3 types of resources for extra credit. I can't say how fantastic this lesson was! Ms. Lemmon incorporated all the skills she had learned at Regent University!!! I am very proud of her.
