Introduction:
The lesson teaches students to solve algebraic expression. Students will be given examples such as, 6n-2=4, solve for n. Students will

learn how to solve for n step by step. The teacher will play a lot of games in the classroom to help students learn quickly and easily. Therefore, students will enjoy it even if they dont like to do it. We all have difficult time understanding how to solve problems at times, but hopefully students will be motivated to learn the steps in solving the equations.

The Task:
How can you solve for expression? How can your studies about math help you in another subject? We always want to keep our problems balanced on both sides of the equals sign. How can you control your life with math? What kind of career you can design you work? We always want to get the letter on one side of the equals sign all by itself? 6n-3=27, How would you balance this equation?

The Process:

Step1.

Isolate the n in the following equations. 1. 3n+12=39 2. 7+n=35-5 3. 6n-10=56 Example 5n+5=25 Steps to isolate n. 5n =25-5 Move the five to the other side of the equal sign and reverse the operation (minus five.) N= (25-5)/5 Move the 5 to the other side of the equal sign and reverse the operation (divide by five.) Step2. Createyour own equations. Make sure that each side is balanced.

1. _ n + _ = _ 2. _ - n = _ + _ 3. _ n - _ = _ Step3. Select1 equation from the previous steps and create a math story to explain the equation. Example n2+12=22 Math Questions Sharon gets $2.00 for every newspaper she delivers. Sharon also gets paid afloat fee of $12 dollars a day. If Sharon made $22.00 in one day how many newspapers did she deliver that day? N2+12=22 N2=22-12 N2=10 N=10/2 N=5 Sharon delivered five newspapers that day.
