ACA

Threats:

Ensure that millions of Americans without insurance can have access to affordable health care insurance Children up to age 26 can retain coverage under parents health insurance

Cancellation of non-compliance insurance States are not expanding their Medicaid program ACA enemies

Medicaid Expansion
States expanding Medicaid program
25 states expanding Medicaid 4 states are considering 21 states are not expanding

Supreme Courts ruled that States do not have to expand Medicaid Coverage
This will leave millions of Americans uninsured

Medicaid Expansion
Uninsured Americans

States Medicaid Expansion

By the Numbers
4.8 million will be uninsured in only five states
Texas 22% Florida 16% Georgia 8% North Carolina 7% Pennsylvania 6% Other states 41%

22.3 million adults with income up to or below 138% of FPL who will qualify for Medicaid will remain uninsured

Uninsured Americans: Critical Issue?

Uninsured Americans will continue to be a critical issue With high cost of premiums and out-of-pocket cost
Insurance will remain unaffordable for low-income individuals and families

Not all states are implementing Medicaid program

As a result, millions of Americans will be left with no insurance

Conclusion
There are 47 million uninsured Americans in the United States. The ACA will help with decreasing the number of Americans that are uninsured by expanding Medicaid and providing subsidies for private insurance, but until all remaining 25 states implement their Medicaid program, the Medicaid expansion will reach only half the number of uninsured people it could, leaving many poor uninsured adults without health insurance coverage.
