Rationale In teaching it is important to fre$uently incorporate whatever technology is availa%le into lessons& Stu'ents in this 'ay an' age are often times more engage' an' learn %etter from the use of technology& This can %e 'one through the use of the following technology pieces for whole group instruction or in'epen'ent center wor(: the smart%oar' an' its accompanying programs) the 'ocument camera) laptop or 'es(top computers) an' various e'ucation we%sites that can %e accesse' %y the teacher online& *uring %oth of my stu'ent teaching placements I fre$uently use' the smart%oar' an' the 'ocument camera for my lessons& I foun' that %oth of these were particularly useful while I taught in first gra'e& By using the smart%oar' I was a%le to fin' interactive lessons that allowe' the stu'ents to manipulate things on the %oar'& This helpe' engage the stu'ents %y getting them more involve' in the learning process& I also use' the 'ocument camera whenever the stu'ents ha' a writing assignment& Being that this was a first gra'e class) the stu'ents were still learning how to rea' an' write& This meant that they coul' not simply %e given a writing assignment an' %e e+pecte' to complete it properly& Therefore) no matter what the writing assignment was) I woul' always mo'el the assignment for the class using the 'ocument& This way they all (new e+actly what they nee'e' to 'o& These are ,ust a few e+amples of how I use' technology in my lessons& The ways that technology can %e utili-e' into the classroom are ,ust a%out limitless& .or to'ay/s stu'ents it really is important to incorporate technology into the classroom as much as possi%le& By 'oing this it helps engage the stu'ents in the learning process&
