1. Areas of strength:

- Teacher uses a variety of strategies to teach math vocabulary (reflection, translation, and rotation). Teacher started by using the smart board for whole group instruction, then had the students use slates, and then moved to a graphic organizer. - Teacher calls on a variety of students. Volunteers and non-volunteers. - Even when a student doesn't give the exact answer, teacher praises student for trying and says things like, "I like how you are thinking." - Teacher monitors students and helps when needed. - Teacher demonstrates good classroom management.
2. Areas for refinement:

- Have students participate more in the whole group instruction. For example, you could have had a student complete the RAMs on the smart board and explain to the rest of the class their thinking.
