Dear Ms. Black,
This office has reviewed your complaint received on or about August 11, 2009 regarding the alleged
failure to provide access to public information and destruction of public information by the Texas
Workforce Commission. We are unable to open an investigation because the Texas Labor Code
specifically states that the type of information you seek in parts 1-4 of your request is not public
information. Labor Code §301.085(c): “Unemployment compensation information is not public
information for purposes of Chapter 552, Government Code.”
Therefore, we are closing the contact at this time.
