From the photographs and the description, what similarities and differences do you see in the two types of houses? One of the similarities is the way they set up their living space. For instance in both communities it shows it starting off as a big structure. However there were little private rooms for families living within the group. From what I can conclude the groups liked a close community and that showed it in its living quarters. However privacy seem to be important and they made sure that included in their lay out. 2. Monte Verde was a Paleolithic community of foragers and Banpo a Neolithic community of agriculturalist. How might the differences between the two houses have been shaped by the technology of food production? What other factors might account for the differences? The Paleolithic people relied on things that were lasting through the weather. Since they were near a creek I dont see them digging unlike the Banpo. With them I think they were in a fertile land because it mentioned them making the roof of their houses out of millet and rice stalks. So they had these things available to make other uses out of them. 3. It is easy to see the vast differences between these houses and those today, but what similarities do you find? What social cultural values might lie behind these similarities? I find that the people today as well those in the past like to be in a community. Yes every family or even every person needs their own space but being close to others. It takes a village this idea I think may have contributed or happened because of the community setting in these houses past and present.
