Dance does not have to be given up in order to pursue an academic education. Duke is one of the top 5 research universities which has become the college of choice for dedicated dancers. In order to get into Duke you must have at least a 3.0 gpa.

Dance Classes Offered


Dance classes are open to all students auditions are only required for repertory classes

How To Apply and the Cost of Attending


Upload a performance 10 to 15 minutes long Faculty is interested in technical , performance , and

choreographic abilities Include a dance sample from each style you are proficient in. Excerpts from class and rehearsals are accepted. Solos and small groups are also accepted. Submit a description about yourself and a dance resume.

Staff and Alumni

Keval K. Khalsa is one of the Associate Professor of the Dance Program. She has an M.A. in Dance from Ohio State University, she is a Professional Teacher Trainer of Yoga and is certified by the Kundalini Research Institute, and has taught Kundalini Yoga in the US, Brazil, and West Africa. Ms. Khalsa teaches Modern techniques, Composition, Repertory, Kundalini Yoga & Sikh Dharma. She graduated from Ohio state University in 1981.

Medina J. Johnson, Carlota Santana, Natalie

Marrone, Rebecca Hutchins, Jessica Walker, and Nina Wheeler are all dance instructors at Duke.
Audrey Fenske was accepted into

Charlottesville Ballet as a resident choreographer


Quinn Lipton lives in Los Angeles as a

commercial dancer and has worked with Katy Perry and appeared on How I Met Your Mother, she has also assisted choreographers on So You Think You Can Dance
