of teacher leadership
• Audience: MSC Representatives, STEM, & LEA (would also be
appropriate for Teacher Leaders)

Introduction to Leadership Materials: 45 minutes


• PowerPoint presentation

Handouts:
• Thumbprints of PowerPoint
• Reflection sheet: Introduction to Leadership

Activities:
1) Begin PowerPoint reviewing slides 1- 4. Stop at slide 4 and have 10 minutes
participants reflect on their earliest leadership experience. Have them
use the reflection sheet to record their answer. Ask three or four
participants to share with whole group.

2) Move to slides 5 & 6. This is an individual reflection guided by 15 minutes


questions in PPT. Answers may be recorded on reflection sheet.

3) After allowing time for personal reflection, have participants share


their reflections with others at their table.

4) Summarize using slide 7 & 8 (Rhetorical): Are leaders born or 5 minutes


developed?

5) Review PPT slides 8 – 12 on Leadership Development in MMSTLC 5 minutes

6) Leadership Hierarchy (slides 13 & 14): Review & comment. 5 minutes

7) Leadership Components: These components may be amended as you 5 minutes


develop your own program.
