ABSTRACT

Accident and injury on children can happen anywhere and anytime. Every time, danger is lurking on children from where they play, bed, toys, furniture around the house, weather, insects, and other animals, also plants. In these circumstances, parents are required to give more attention to the children so that the accident can be avoided. According to the basic survey which is conducted to 12 parents at Mekarjaya village, Sukaresmi sub-district on June 2013, it is discovered that there are eight parents who said that they are lack of paying attention to their children so they got some accidents. The purpose of this research is to discover whether there is a correlation between parents knowledge about accident risk with the accident prevention on toddlers at Mekarjaya village, Sukaresmi sub-district, including independent variables: parents knowledge about accident risk. This research is cross sectional design research with the whole parents at Mekarjaya village, Sukaresmi sub-district which is up to 116 people as the population. The technique for sample taking is random sample technique. The result of this research is the discovery of significant correlation between value variable (P-value = 0.0001) with accident prevention as dependent variable, with significant value ( = 0, 05) According to this result, it is suggested that health seminar program about accident anticipation which can occur anytime is conducted with the main target all of the parents.
