Water shortage in Somalia

Introduction
Water is one of the most important reasons that keep us alive is known that the human need to drink 2 liters per day of water, The drought is the main reason for a lack of water . Drought occurs when a specific area with shortage of water resources over time is experienced. The reason for this is due to the continued low rainfall, causing low river water levels, and a low water table. In addition, statistics show that half of the hospitals beds in the world occupied by patients who are diagnosed with illnesses related to water crises and poor sanitation more than through war-. 2.6 billion in fact. People who live in all parts of the world without basic sanitation, is the cause of 88 % of diseases from contaminated water (Facts on Water and Sanitation, 2012). Other statistics include: 1- 1.4 Million Children die each year as a result of diseases caused by unclean water and poor sanitation. 2- The death of many of the children under five is due to water - related diseases 3- Girls under 15 lose out on education by collecting water There are an estimated 884 million people deprived of drinking water Water shortage creates difficulties, and a loss of opportunities for education and disease (Facts on water and sanitation, 2012).If we do not get a solution in the problem of water shortage in the world, this will increase and there will be more disease and deaths.

Problem

Somalia is one of important countries in the African continent, but one of the most important problems is related to the lack of water. There was severe drought in Somalia, forcing some residents to search long distances for water and sell everything they have in order to get water, as it is essential for humans. According to UNICEF Somalia is one of the countries that have limited access to clean drinking water (UNICEF news). Although there are other factors

such as war and violence that are significantly causes of interruption to the supply, the rivers Juba and Shebelle which contain the countrys natural supplies does not have the proper associated infrastructure to make it accessible to everyone. The financial crisis and multiple problems which resulted in water shortages in Somalia has led to the death of many people and disease due to contaminated water sources. Somalia hopes to provide security and stability to provide water to all. Lack of water for livestock and agriculture especially in the villages drives them to the cities. The United Nations is going to pay nearly $ 60 million to meet the multiple needs of the Somali people as it faces severe drought, especially in the north. The southern part has an abundance of water due to the presence of a group of rivers but the structural development is not there to allow this to be distributed to all. Therefore, soil erosion and other issues have arisen due to the lack of this resources and this has impacted the countrys economic growth.

Solutions
Still a lot of organizations are working to find a solution to the water problem in Somalia. Most notably the United Nations, which is able to provide water and the establishment of a healthy life for all despite the fact that this will cost money. Many of these organizations, the most notable solutions are wells. That are located in central Somalia, and the solution is to rehabilitate wells and provide for all residents of the area. A lot of clean water and nearly 680 families will be available with water and this in Somalia. United Nations is seeking to reduce the suffering in Somalia, where there are nearly 80% of the people most in need of water (United Nations News Centre). Should be drilling new wells of water from the water supply to the population .And try to achieve security stability, and techniques can be used to purify contaminated water that lead to too many people can take advantage of this technology in agriculture .As well as become safe drinking water, the United Nations is still considering new solutions. Can reduce pollution and water supply with the knowledge that it will not get in return for this work on the money. But well-known relief of many people in the world. Who do not deny ever United Nations efforts to help the affected countries. I think that the United States will find the best solution of this problem. Wells is one of the most important global solutions that any country can do it. So, it can provide water to the population.
