Canvas by Instructure. (2008) https://oakschristian.instructure.com/login This website is used in schools to help the teachers, students and parents connect. It is a useful tool because it has many great features for all, there is a grade book, journal feature, discussions boards, messaging, a calendar where you can post due dates, and you can get all your assignments on the site. This site is going to be used in this unit as a main check for students to know what is being done in class. It will also be where they journal their entries and have group discussions. This site is an easy assess for students to get the necessities for the class. Fakebook. (1998-2014). http://www.classtools.net/FB/home-page Fakebook is used to create a fake facebook page for a character or person. It includes a self-portrait, their friends, some status posts, background information and general information about this person. It is a great way to identify this person, and give some relevant information while keeping it fun and relatable for the students. Fakebook will be used in class to identify different choreographers. This will help students learn more about different choreographers, their background, which they know and are their influences and how they have grown through time. They can even post some clips of their choreography. Flashcardlet App (2013) https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/flashcards*/id403199818?mt=8

Flashcardlet App is a study tool for students, which are an electronic version of a flashcard. You can either make your own flash cards or you can use premade ones by searching the database to see if they have what you are studying. These are very helpful to students because it gives them a variety of ways to use these flashcards in a way that best suits that learner. Once you know a flashcard, you can star it and it wont test you on it anymore. We will be using the Flashcardlet App in our unit for students to make sure they know all their dance terms. Knowing terminology in dance is very important to get through learning choreography quickly this is a great way for students to quiz themselves and what they know about the terms in dance class. Google Doc (1998-2014) https://docs.google.com Google Docs is a great tool for anyone needing to create or share a document, spreadsheet, presentation, etc. It is saved in the database and can be shared between different users, there is the ability to work on a document together or to create a quiz or worksheet that students can fill out and send back through Google docs. It is a very easy tool for teaching. I will be using Google Docs to create a chart for students to fill out. I will use this tool so that students have an easy way to add their information and instantly being able to give it back to me for me to see their thoughts and ideas. Google Maps is a way to get an in depth looks at places around the world. You can put in a city and get an up close view at the streets and the homes, and see what other places in the world look like. I am using Google Maps in my lesson for students to learn about the different cultures and cities where different styles of dance are from. This will help understand what has influenced the movement and the cultural background behind each style of dance. iMovie (http://www.apple.com/mac/imovie/) iMovie allows you to create, record and edit videos. It takes footage you have or you can record at that moment and helps place it in an easy to use format to edit and create your own video. You can add titles, endings, and transitions between clips. It also allows you to add music over the clips. iMovie also has a feature that allows you to create a trailer and all you have to do is insert video clips you would like to use and it creates your own personal trailer. I will be using iMovie in this unit for the final project. Students will have to record their choreography, behind the scenes footage, and record themselves talking about their dance. I will like them to do this in the style of So You Think You Can Dance. iTunes. Apple. http://www.apple.com/itunes/ iTunes is used to store, manage and search for music. You can make playlists with specific songs you select, or you can just play a single song. You can upload your music or purchase some from the store.

It will be created with all their ideas for their choreographed dance, from song idea, location, costumes, story, feelings, emotions, etc. Prezi www.prezi.com Prezi is a presentation program that has great visuals. It moves around a picture rather then just through the slides. You can add any detail you want including titles, all your important information, sound, videos, and pictures. Prezi will be used in this unit to present all the information about their dance. They will use mindmeister as a basic organization for this presentation and then really get more into detail through Prezi. They will give information behind the style they chose, why the chose it, the song they chose, costume, location, etc. Sketchbook Pro App. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sketchbook-pro-for ipad/id364253478 Sketchbook Pro is an app where you can create any kind of sketch. It incorporates all colors, and types and sizes of the drawing or painting unit.

This way it can be a visual representation of what the audience should be looking at when watching their dance. Spotify https://www.spotify.com/us/

Spotify is used to store music and to discover new music. It has a great search to find undiscovered music or music similar to a certain style you like. Students can chose to use Spotify as their search engine for music instead of iTunes. They can also search through their stored music in Spotify. YouTube www.youtube.com YouTube is a video database where you can search or upload a video. This is a very popular way to find video footage. This is also a great way to share videos that you create. Students can use YouTube in a variety of ways. YouTube will be used to search for music, to look up different choreographers videos, to look up So You Think You Can Dance video package examples, and we will be using it to project Just Dance for Wii, to practice basic dance moves.
