Sample Change Over Time Presentation

Ms. Martin

Middle Ages
Description of the Middle Ages- Tailor you description to the changes you are going to discuss for example, if I am going to say that there were political changes. Here I should describe the political structures at the start point. Ex. Feudalism- weak kings supported militarily by nobles, kings were weaker than the Church)

Tricky Part- you may have two totally different changes, if so you should preview both of them here

Examples from Middle Ages

Example 1) Political
If you said like in my example, kings were weak, you should support that with a specific example. Ex. Papal Supremacy- the Pope has ultimate authority over secular Kings Example 2) Should support another aspect of your desciption

Changes
Your change should be broad so you can support it with several examples. Ex. During the Renaissance and Reformation, new ideas emerged that decreased the power of the Church

Examples of Change
Example 1)
Should support your change

Ex. Secularism reflected interest in non-religious affairs. Machiavelli wrote a secular manual on how to be a strong ruler
Example 2) Should support another aspect of your desciption

End Description - Absolutism

Your End Description should make sense in connection with you beginning, and your changes. Ex. During the 18th Century Monarchs became much more powerful. Tricky Part- you may have two totally different changes, if so you should conclude both of them here

Example 1)
Again, make it match

Ex. Louis XIV, although Catholic, but had much more authority than a Feudal Monarch. Exhibiting total control over his country.
Example 2) Should support another aspect of your desciption
