Art Students Host Final Year Degree Show

Thursday, 21 April 2011 Final year students at the University of Worcester are presenting progressive and inspiring works in a double exhibition next month. Fine Art, Art & Design and Creative Digital Media students will showcase their work to the public from Thursday, May 26 until Sunday, May 29 from 10am to 4pm. The Fine Art and Art & Design show, SHIFT.2011, will take place in the Universitys Garage complex on Hylton Road, while the Creative Digital Media show, COGITO ERGO SUM, will be held in the Digital Arts Centre and Cotswold Suite at the Universitys St Johns campus. Elliot Robinson, a Fine Art student, said: There will be everything from paintings and prints, to ceramics, film and photography. Its going to be a really fantastic show, with something for everyone. The work of final year students presenting their show at the St Johns campus will encompass animation, illustration, photography, film and graphic design. Students have worked on projects in partnership with various clients such as Worcester City Council, English Heritage, The National Trust and Westons Cider. Professor Antonia Payne, Head of the Universitys Institute of Humanities & Creative Arts, said: This years shows celebrate the work of our first graduates from a number of new Worcester courses, including Animation, Digital Film Production, Illustration, and Fine Art Practice, as well as the latest graduates from existing courses. They are testament to the growing ambition and achievements of art and design students and staff at the University.
