the National Endowment for the Arts, the Poetry Poetry Out Loud in Virginia is a partnership of Increase your students self-confidence and instill a life-long love of poetry and literature. Recitation and performance are major new trends in poetry. There has been a recent resurgence of poetry as an oral art form, as seen in the slam poetry movement and the immense popularity of hip-hop music. Poetry Out Loud builds on that momentum by inviting the dynamic aspects of slam poetry, spoken word, and theater into the English class.

To participate in official regional, state and national competitions, VIRGINIA STATE FINALS simply register online at www.TheatreIVRichmond.org. Registration deadline is Monday, October 26 at 5:00 p.m. You will receive everything MARCH 11, 2010 you need to run a successful competition including: Register Now!
