EVERLASTING INSIGHT

Service to others, adds to the `punyas

1. 2. 3. 4.
If we take services from others , we lose our share of `punyas` but if we serve others, it multiplies. Hence always indulge in charity and try not to take help from others. If a human being has firmness, continuity and passion, he could achieve anything in the world. We shall be firm that not for even a single second, depression comes to our mind. Two pair cloths to cover the body, two square meal and two-yard land could be achieved with a little labor in the world. What is the need of collecting after this? Anything except it should be dealt with the feeling of donation to the needy persons. The people in power are alienated from the `Raj dharma` and moving fast on the path of `adharma`. Obama says, he is Christian, good, we respect him. Other administrators in the world say, they are Muslims, we respect them. But when one says, I am a Hindu and a nationalist, controversy erupts. Is saying that I am a Hindu a matter of shame? One Prime Minister in India had said I am Hindu by accident. Swami Vivekanand never said I am a Hindu by accident. But yes, I am proud of being Hindu.

religion and `purusharth`. The welfare of the country is a foregone conclusion, with the relentless hard work of lakhs of workers, struggling with us without any ill-intentions and crores of our supporters associated with the campaign, who are nationalist and religious. We are presenting here the derivations of the Swamijis message. We have full faith that every one of us would spread the words and pay homage in the divine powers `yagna` for personality building, nation building and the society building being carried by him. 1. With the help of yoga, we have to keep diseases at bay. But it is just the first step towards betterment of the society at large. With the help of yoga and spiritualism, we have to transform a human being into super human being, a man in super man and a `nar` into `narayana`. We would have to be a representative of the divine power and convert the life best for others. The personal wishes, aspirations have to be merged into that of the divine power. This is the last objective of `yoga`, which we have to be achieved in this birth itself and every moment, we have to give top priority to the `adhyatma dharma` besides `parivar dharma`, ` swa dharma` and `rashtra dharma`. 2. Fate and efforts are the two wheels, necessary to run the cart of the life. The `karmas` of the past and the values, which are associated with us as fate or fortune interrupt in the smooth flowing. The ominous and inauspicious `karmashaya` and values pull us backward and in the present efforts, our past ill behavior and nature stand tall as the biggest challenge or hurdle. Thus, a human being is taken in wrong action, reaction and the life turns into hell. Now what could save us from mis-

Earlier in old age, Lord Rama and Yogeshwar Krishna had killed `Putna`, `Tadka`, `Ravana` and `Kans`, using bow and `Sudarshan chakra`. But now the most accurate arm in modern age is Electronic Voting machine (EVM). To kill the `kaliyugi` demons, press the most suitable button so that they are killed politically. All the demons would attain `moksha` and hence saved from further committing sins and the mother India and 125 crore population would also get relief from sorrow, poverty and injustice. 5. The side effects of the serious diseases blood pressure, sugar, thyroid and others are dangerous and likewise, the bigger diseases in the nation have side-effects in inflation, poverty, unemployment, insecurity, illiteracy and population growth. Join hands with Swamiji and give your share of life in making the country a healthy, prosperous, most glorious, valued and a great Bharat.

The oil is named as Oil of Ginger, which is not acerbic. The oil has zingiberene and zingiberaceae elements. The acerbic element present in `saunth` is not volatile and hence, when kept in alcohol or `ishwar`, a dark deep brownish oily product is formed, which is called as zingrin. The acerbity of the solution is due to this element. Besides the oily

Dharamveer Walia,

Yours truly,

Your Realization
Yoga, Pranayam and Ayurveda normalized blood pressure and reduced weight
Param Pujya Swamiji Maharaj, Sadar charan sparsh (Seek blessings, touching your feet) Maharaj Shri, I retired from the Delhi Police service in 2007. After retirement, I gained weight and consequently the complaint of blood pressure too cameup. The blood pressure touched around 100/140, which caused concern to me. Once, I saw you practicing yoga and exercising on Astha channel. I too decided to perform yoga and pranayam to get rid of the diseases. I participated in the yoga camps held under your guidance and exercised yoga, with full commitment and dedication. I also relied on `muktavati`, a medicine of Patanjali Yogpeeth for the treatment of BP. And soon I got results. My age is 66 years now but I am completely healthy. My BP is normal and the weight is also under control. Then, I decided to help other patients with the help of yoga and ayurveda so that they too live healthy life. I started holding yoga classes at 10 & yogsandesh & November 2013

Yoga and Pranayam help giving new lease of life

Seeking blessings of Swamiji Maharaj touching the feet. Maharajshri, till 2005, I had not heard about you but on the evening of 26thJanuary, 2005 I saw your program on TV and followed to get immediate benefits. It would not be exaggerated to say that I was a home to the diseases. I was an asthma patient since the age of 18. I had applied all medicines, including allopathic, homeopathy, fish medicine (Hyderabad) but did not succeed. I was also suffering with severe headache, heel ache, waist ache, varicose vein, sleep apnea and other diseases. My husband had undergone a heart operation in 1995. For the first time, we, the couple attended your residential camp at Mahajan Bhavan Dharamshala in Haridwar and since then, we are constantly practicing yoga, meditation as you guide. Resultantly, all the diseases have vanished and we both are hale and hearty. Since 2005, I have not taken any medicine. We both have removed our spectacles as the vision has normalized. I have no hesitation to accept that this miracle has happened only and only because of your gift of yoga, pranayam and other exercises. After 18 years of the operation, my husband is also healthy. The yoga and pranayam have given a new lease of life to both of us. Truly yours, Bhanuvati, 496\22, Chand Nagar, Rohtak, Haryana.

Use of eye drop `Drashti` normalizes vision, spectacle removed

Shradhyey Swamiji Maharaj, Pranam. Swamiji. You and Acharya Balkrishnaji Maharaj have revived yoga and ayurveda not only on the horizon of India but on the world. You have not only preached sermons but gifted certified yoga therapy and pure medicines, which is benefitting millions of people in the world. My age is around 66 years and nearly 10 years ago, my sight started weakening. I started wearing spectacles as without glasses, it was not possible to read newspaper. I was a retired person and running a stitching shop for livelihood. Without glasses stitching work was also troublesome. Then I started using `Drishti`, an eye-drop prepared by Patanjali Yogpeeth. And miracle happened as after one month, I removed my spectacles. The sight started normalizing gradually. Since last six months, I am working without glasses and even for stitching or reading newspapers, I do not require spectacles. Now when the people ask for the secrecy of removing spectacles, I eagerly tell them about the magic of `drashti`. I am really inspired with the campaign, you have undertaken against the Union Government in the interest of the nation and the humanity and want to cooperate in the `yagna`. I am ever-ready to assist you in this holy war. Yours only Banshilal Tailor, Post Bagot, Tehsil Parbatsar, District Nagaud, Rajasthan. Phone - 9024578756.

Acharyashri. My daughter-in-law was pregnant and we were in constant touch with the doctors. But they had apprehended that some problem could arise during delivery. They had suggested remaining prepared for any emergency. They were planning also for an operation. My daughter-in-law has already a child. During previous delivery too she had complications and that time also, we had tied `apamarg` herbal to the waist of the patient with a thread and we repeated the same this time also, ignoring the doctors. And it was again successful step. She delivered child without any problem. It is really a sure-shot medicine for the pregnant women. Its application saved my daughter-in-law and the entire family from suffering and mental agony. Acharyashri, kudos for re-establishing Ayurveda on the world map, which is now benefitting millions of people. Yours truly, Satyanarayan Garg, House number 3191, Siraspur village, Delhi 110042. The expectations from Narendra Bhai Modi, the

Prime Ministerial projected candidate. But what are the expectations? When the society expects something at a large scale from a senior leader, needless to say it is not something personal. It is the expectation of the masses. It is the feeling of the conscious, sub-conscious minds, courtesy the values inculcated since many centuries. And everybody has started believing that such `Lok Nayak` takes birth, once in a century.

millions of the youths in India have really big

Nations expectation from Narendra Modi

Professor Kusumlala Kedia

n the second half of 1970, Mr Jaiprakash Narayan also emerged as Lok Nayak but the expectations public had attached to him could not be fulfilled due to various reasons. But what was the main reason? JP himself had called on for the total revolution. In 19th century, the science had rejected the Newtonian 12 & yogsandesh & November 2013

model and many new scientific researches and findings have come-up. Armed with the knowledge of the new scientific researched JP called for complete revolution but the desired intellectual, academic home work was no done. Besides, the workers received no political training. The JP campaign gained momentum but his main issue `democracy without political boundaries` was relegated to back-burner. The research centre established in socio-scientific region too was lost and ultimately, the concept of total revolution proved just an attractive slogan. Whatever churned out of the JP movement was breed of leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar. Though, they have certain qualities but could not get associated with the philosophy of complete revolution. They had all the old strategies like caste based slogans, politics based on Newtonian model, mobilization against Hindu community and struggle of caste in place of community, being the epi-centre of the politics. Narendra Modi is an icon of enthusiasm, confidence and aspiration of the youth community. The youth brigade of the new era, is free from all depressions and old thoughts. It sees the image of a lion of Girnar in Narendra Modi. The youngsters are looking for an icon, which has the character of lion in him. They

are looking for a personality, which has radiance and is self-dignified. This generation is looking beyond frustrations, a character with manhood qualities. It does not want to live in any depression, which is deep-rooted in the Congressmen. This surprises youths. He fails to understand the reason as why the Congress, which has senior leaders besides many royal families and dignified persons associated to it are rallying behind a person of foreign origin for guidance and patronization? The people know better regarding the dynasty politics, one party is playing since its inception. The youth brigade knows it very well that if British people left India; it was because of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and the deep-rooted anger in Indian army and navy against British rulers. Furthermore, after massive losses in the post second world war scenario, Britain was not in a position to control Bharat. The generation does not see any contribution of Jawaharlal Nehru in the departure of British forces. Hence, the issue of dynasty rule as carried by the Congress appears to have lack of self-respect, self-confidence and a typical example of self-aversion. The youth brigade hates it and wants to overcome such dirty mindset. It is not something all of a sudden that Mr Narendra Modi is talking of the country, free from the Congress and the youths are overwhelming supporting it. Clearly, Mr Modi does not mean to throw the Congress away but he means politics free from the dynasty rule. The youth brigade is also fed-up with the inferiority complex towards the nation that the Congress has exhibited on many occasions. The new generation doesnt want to carry the burden of such politics. It has failed to understand as what is the specialty in a specific family, without which the nation cant run. The representatives of the family are all before the public, which appear as simple as others. Now the efforts of the Congressmen creating undue aura around them is intolerable to them. The fresh blood wants to get rid of such strange mindset. It wants and needs a healthy leadership. It needs a natural flow of Indian politics. Though, the BJP leadership too has been in dilemma and probably not different from that of Congress. It too has displayed its frustration onoccasions. When its leaders visited Pakistan, they did not have the courage to talk eye to eye. The particular leader was worried that the people should not consider him anti-Muslim and simultaneously, he shall not deny the fact that he was a born Hindu. None of the Pakistani leader said before him that though they are Muslim, they are not anti-Hindu. But this BJP leader gave clarification. Now he clarified it himself or was demanded for, is still not clear. But Modi appears to be free from such frustrations.

Narendra Modi is an icon of enthusiasm, confidence and aspiration of the youth community. The youth brigade of the new era, which is free from all depressions and old thoughts, sees the image of a lion of Girnar in Narendra Modi...

...The youngsters are looking for an

icon, which has the character of lion in him. They are looking for a personality, which has radiance and is self-dignified. This generation is looking beyond frustrations, a character with manhood qualities. It does not want to live in any depression, which is deep-rooted in the Congress and its leaders.

He could not understand as what is the need to wear skull cap to show affection towards Muslims? Had any Muslim leader ever sported `tilak` or recited Gita to express affection towards Hindu community? Though, Nitish Kumar says that in India one has to sport Tilak and also wear skull cap but the statement fails to make any impact as Nitish Kumar has never claimed to be a leader of Hindu community. Among the political leaders in India over 10,000 of them are neither true Hindu nor true Muslims. This is new breed of politicians or a new community. As our society is accommodative and has place for new sects too but still these breed can not present themselves as the representatives of the Hindu community. They could present themselves as inventing a new sect, a sect, which wants to transform the nation according to its thoughts and which claims to be the sole representative of the nation. It is worth mentioning here that Mahatma Gandhi has himself considered as `Sanatani Hindu`, hence he was acceptable to Hindus. To appease Muslims, he never wore skull cap at least it has not found any mention in the history books. But he sported `tilak` on many occasions. Hence leaders like Nitish Kumar can not be bracketed with Gandhi ji. They are representing new sect. Such breed of leaders has every right in the Indian constitution but then Hindus too have equal rights in the constitution. They would not wear skull cap to appease minority community. Narendra Modi is a true representative of such Hindus. The Congress has since decades betrayed, cheated and insulted Hindus. It has deleted the ancient tradition of education, introduced by old-age seers from the Indian November 2013 & yogsandesh & 13

to bear the insult anymore. It wants to lead a normal unbiased healthy life. Now a natural question arises that whether Narendra Modi, after coming to the power would give appropriate place to our age-old knowledge, education system? Whether he would give Hindu religion the same constitutional patronization, as the minority community enjoys? Whether he would allow exploitation of the natural resources for the benefit of a few persons, as the Congress did in past 66 years? Whether, he would patronize Indian seeds, plants, t r e e s , herbals, animals, agriculture system, sculpture system and justice traditions or keep them in oblivion in the name of marching in 21stcentury? Whether he would empower Indian states to have rights on the natural assets and resources? Whether he would continue Anglo section Law in India? Whether Narendra Modi would allow Bharat to continue as the British Commonwealth member and would be bind to the oath that England and India would have common language, history and culture as Congress is bound? In fact, the people, youths in particular would have the same aspirations from Narendra Modi, when he would come to the power. Only after he fulfills these aspirations, it would be proved that he has the qualities of the great Swami Vivekanand, the youth icon. Or else, he too would be treated as a cheater as done by the successors of `complete revolution`. But we are confident enough that at least this time, the people of Bharat would not be betrayed. Narendra Modi would prove himself as `Singh Purush` and would be different from the breed of politicians, having the mixed craftiness of fox and jackal. His rule would be different from that of the Congress and only then, he would be able to gain the admiration of the Indian community as Chandrashekhar Azad and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose had once. We had en number of examples of capturing power by betrayal and making mockery of the democracy but the tradition of the nationalist leaders also can not be ignored. We are hopeful that Narendra Modi would prove to be true successor of the high-spirited and strong nationalistic leadership.

But preaching their ideas in Bharat is a classic example of racism. It is an insult to the intelligence of our nation and an insult to the nation itself which is intolerable. Parents getting older

Isampal Singh Saini
The parents are getting older with fragile body, But dont forget that they sacriced their wealth, youthfulness and assets on you. In your childhood, you played in their lap and they faced lot of difculty in your upbringing, They taught you to live the life and unraveled all the secrets, The mother blessed the son, always remain happy, She also tutored that performing good activities so that the people remember you as a good human being. They also taught you to keep distance from the immoral wealth, which is the reason for the downward slide in the life. And dont forget that your parents sacriced their wealth, youthfulness and assets on you. Always do seless service to the parents, which would give you immense pleasure in the life, If you make them happy in the old age, the god would give you place in the heaven. Never hurt them or else you would repent in future. You are their beloved one and you should accompany them in their last stage of life. You have the debt of mothers milk, never forget it. Just remember that they sacriced their wealth, youthfulness and assets on you. The love that the parents have showered on you does not have any parallel, You could search it in entire world but would not get the unending love. You may give alms, pray almighty or sing hymns but nothing could give you solace. But if you serve to the parents, you would be called a warrior. The parents have always given shelter on you. Just remember that they sacriced their wealth, youthfulness and assets on you. One who gets the love of the parents is fortunate enough. It is their kindness that they give their shelter. Replicate their love with love and you would be happy. Doing this would make your love unbeatable. The great personalities have repeatedly said that the parents are akin to god And dont forget that they sacriced their wealth, youthfulness and assets on you.

While walking, sitting, standing, the electorate has only one point to consider, How the fortune of Bharat would change. Please help us almighty to decide. We know that electorate has immense power in voting right, But now you give us wisdom so that we could choose the right candidate. We know that dishonest persons have cast their inuence in the politics and Their obnoxious actions have created lot of confusion. The wicked politicians hold sway on the power and Most of them have deposited black money in tax-heaven countries. Even the black money was sent abroad Suggesting the people of the country, take just a few kilograms of pulses and rice and make merry. They said that you would have full-stomach meal in ve rupees, Work hard for entire day and praise us for the life. You are wealthy person, earning Rs 35 a day And now never scream that I am poor, I am poor. The middle class in the society is still entangled between the devil and the deep sea. He has to maintain his reputation amidst the steep price ination. But we admit that we committed big mistake, when we kept our eyes closed ve years ago, And gave the power to the incompetent people, who are made our life a hell. Now the situation has changed and young blood has come to the helm. The electorates regret the mistake committed earlier but now the opportunity has come to regret and correct it.

Rule of law, Rule of justice and the media

The cover two events recently and over 70 percent of the
so called main stream media has gone overboard to airtime was dedicated to them. Though, many criminal incidents have happened across the country, but the media is giving extra hype to these two incidents. More surprising, the coverage has least connection with the TRP. To the people, I knew, the media is bitterly criticized for its attitude. The people feel that excess coverage of the two said events is either a sign of any psychological problem or any deep-rooted politics hidden underneath. If the reason is politics than the main objective must be diverting the attention of the people from the corruptions and the antinational activities of the ruling party
The section of the media highlighting the charges of a girl on the spiritual guru plead that everybody is equal in the eyes of law and our nation has the rule of the law. But had the media ever highlighted sexual assault charges against Christian padres and `maulvis`? Thus, media itself goes against the logic of everybody is equal in the eyes of the law. The media also shies away, when Congress party or Left party leaders, senior bureaucrats are accused of sexual harassment. And to say, why only the sexual charges, even charges of serious nature are leveled against prominent people but clear discrimination is visible. When everybody is equal in the eyes of law, as the media claims in some of the cases, why it shut its eyes on such cases? Thus, it is clear that when everybody is equal in the eyes of law, it is not so for the media, albeit in different words. Media also conveniently hides the fact that in the eyes of law, the hierarchy in India and in the world also, is clearly described. Thus, it is clear that the law itself categorize people in different groups. The law uses convenient words like more privileged or less privileged group of people or with more responsibility or with less responsibility. But it is clear that the rights the Prime Minister enjoys can not be entrusted to a class four employee or a hungry poor person or say to a common tribal fellow. Moreover, the powers delegated to the Principal Secretary of a department can not be given to the class four employee of the office. A clerk has no right to spend any fund from the Government exchequer for the public welfare purpose while a senior officer has the authority of doing so. It is a common system, followed in entire world and hence `everybody is equal in the eyes of the law`

Professor Rameshwar Mishra Pankaj

n the process the media conveniently forgets other crimes, being committed across the country. But mind that the spoiling image of the media is not good for the society and the democracy as well. Now the natural question is as what are the two events, played out of the proportion. The two highlighted incidents are victimization of a particular community people in a communal violence and the charges of a girl on a Hindu spiritual leader. Though, most of the main stream media are going overdrive in the coverage of the two said events but a section of the media itself has criticized the attitude. According to the Chief Editor of a reputed channel` the media is involved in the sex marketing, which is not fair`. The role of the media in highlighting victimization of a particularly community (right or wrong is yet to be ascertained) too has come under severe criticism. Thus, it is clear that the media too has different opinions but it is natural too. 16 & yogsandesh & November 2013

seems to be an unclear and ambiguous statement. The society has always followed some standards. But the media publicizes it as an isolated incident, which has happened after British rule or after 1947. While blowing the trumpet, the media conveniently forgets the trust of the hierarchy, which is the very base of the Government and the administration. Besides the society, when a person has unlimited powers while other has only limited then the law means maintaining the disparity. In the language of communist, it is said as maintaining the status quo. The followers of communist in India too supports maintaining status quo. Now the statement in itself that `no one is above the law` appears correct but the point to be considered is whether the law in itself deserves to be equal for all. What is the meaning of the law? It is the set of the rule, framed by the Government or the administration to control the mass. Now the rule of law persisted in every administration may be of Hirankashyap, Ravana, Kans or even in British rule. The British always spoke of the rule of law and in contrast, Lokmanya Tilak, Lala Lajpat Rai, Vipinchandra Pal, Mahamana Madanmohan Malviya and Mahatma Gandhi broke the law, protesting against the administration. Thus, with unjust set of rules too, it was perceived as the rule of the law. The rule of law in itself is not good or the bad but it is the set of rules, which makes it better or worse. In India, is it not shameful that still we follow many of the laws drafted by the British colonial rule? In China, Russia, France, Germany nowhere British rules have been given prominence. But in India, they are still welcomed. Leave apart the revolutionary leaders, what was the status of the mighty Congress leaders in the eyes of the law, let us see. Now, Mahatma Gandhi, the tallest leader of the Congress was a person creating anarchy, a law breaker, inciting people for violence, waging war against the state and working against the law and the order. Jawaharlal Nehru was a traitor, inflaming peoples passion, provoking farmers, labors for violence, interrupting in the Government officials work, using threatening language and giving inflammatory speeches.

The British Government has, to keep eye on such leaders set-up a special wing `Cheating and Dacoity wing`. One of my friend and a known historian Mr Dharampal brought photo copies of thousands of dossiers from the India office Library, London. I read all of them and also mentioned them in my book titled `Cow, a symbol of cultural respect`, published in 1992. The documents have mention of the great saints, religious and spiritual leaders, who were portrayed as dacoits, cheaters and traitors. So this is the condition of law which still persists in India. If the laws are followed as said, it is going to spell a doom. Thus, the issue of debate shall be on good or bad laws. The important is the rule of justice and not the rule of the law. The laws, which do not impart justice to the needy person, shall be scrapped at once. New laws should be framed. Only highlighting the fear of the law shows devotion to the Government. It is not the love to the nation but it is the love to the unjust rulers. Now is it not surprising that the media is trying to conceal this undisputed and well-known fact and takes a lot of pride in it. Due to the political rivalry, the leaders make the law their tool and get FIRs lodged against the opponents. These FIRs are just allegations but the media portrays it as the evidence to frame anyone. This is fast diminishing the media credibility. It is worrisome. The fact that the law itself is not synonymous to the truth shall not be hidden. The law is a medium of justice and not a justice in itself. The law could be easily exploited to commit injustice. Thus, the issue of the discussion should be justice or injustice and now the law. The laws should be put to test whether they impart justice or injustice. There is no universal structure of the `rule of law` in the world. The laws are different, may be good or bad. The Congress itself introduced over 100 amendments in the Constitution being drafted by Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Had the rule of the law a definite composition, what was the need for not one or two, over 100 amendments? Likewise, over 1000 amendments have been introduced in the legal framework in our country. Had the rule of the law been a definite best set of rules, what was the need to introduce over

100 amendments? Thus, the statement pertaining to the rule of law is vague and keeps changing. It should be the rule of justice and not the law. Hence the laws are always put to revision, which is an ongoing and natural process. It is very clear that most of the laws impart justice but a few not. The anti-public law, needs to be amended regularly. It happens in the world and not a new phenomenon. It is beyond any doubt that there shall be the rule of justice and not the law. Another absurd aspect is that the media always publicizes as the law being rule of god or divine power under which a common person has to live. The media conveniently forgets that every law is meant for the society and is drafted by the society, or a representative of the society, i.e. the state through the legislature. The executive has to follow the decision. But for media, the law is a tool to hit the public, posing it as an almighty super power. Law always gets change and would keep changing. Different countries have different set of rules. But our media turns blind eye towards it deliberately. And if it is not the fact, what is the reason for concealing the truth? In England, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, the religious leaders of the majority community have many legal rights. They have major say in the areas of education, culture and framing the laws means in the legal field. All the European states are religion-centric while India is the sole atheist and materialistic state, which is against the religion being followed by the majority of the countrymen. On the contrary, they shelter and patronize other religions, considering them as minority. It is the most surprising and faulty legal system. The media itself is enjoying tremendous rights. They get many facilities overtly or otherwise but it is also not brought before the public. The plea is that media is for the service of the society. But why media alone and not other institutions, involved in the social service? Are different spiritual bodies, panchayats and khaps not serving to the society? Considering itself and a few other organizations, running since British era as the lone representative of the society to take the privileges and dump the traditional institutions are immoral is nothing but a ploy in the hands of foreign elements. And anybody playing in the foreign hands does not deserve any leniency and special privileges. The issue has to come-up, today 18 & yogsandesh & November 2013

or tomorrow. Under the cover of the rule of the law, unethical, faulty and discriminatory laws can not be said justified. It is the religion of the public to raise voice against them and the duty of the Parliament to enact a law, exhibiting the public sentiments. In the anti-communal law in the contemporary India, the serious and actual communalism isa wrong perception pertaining of the people belonging to a particular community. Is it not an insult to that community? It has been agreed upon that the percentage of good people in that community is minimal. It is a sheer false, which has been accepted by the sympathizers of the community besides the media. Their opponents propagated it since long time. I have always opposed to the use of the word Muslim appeasement. To support a few of the criminals, unethical persons of a community could be how far an appeasement to the entire community? Whenever you act to conceal illegal, criminal, immoral, unethical activities of a few elements, it is not related with the entire community. There are people, who want to propagate regarding the community that immoral activities too are considered as that of the community. But it is not true. The messiahs of Muslim community never made sincere efforts for an open dialogue between religious Hindus and Muslims. This is communalism. On the other hand, the people who talk of Muslim appeasement are communal as they publicize that every member of the community is involved in wrong activities and they follow unethical life style. It is a sheer lie. It is not possible that every follower of Muslim community favors wrong, illegal and unethical activities. This wrong perception affects open dialogue. In open dialogue, I have firm belief that neither of the two communities would place any unethical demand. The communal elements, both the sides always oppose open dialogue and the same are also responsible to inject fear in the name of Narendra Bhai Modi. Though it is not new in independent India and on previous occasions too, good peoples have been publicized as a demon so that the dialogue process could not set rolling. Mr Mahmood Madni rightly said that it is wrong to show that Narendra Modi would be frightening for Muslims. The all India Congress Vice President, only recently tried to convey that Muslims peeved with the

The important point is that the media publicizes the rule of the law as rule of the almighty or the divine power, beneath which all have to live. It conveniently forgets that all laws are meant for the society, framed by the society or its representative body, the state.
communal tension either plan to leave for Pakistan or being influenced by the Pakistani Intelligence Agency, ISI. It is one of the most communal speeches, spreading hatred. Now if you want to perceive that a Muslim, victim of communal tension has the right to quit his motherland or make relationship with the foreign intelligence agency than by this logic, victim Hindus too have the right to proceed towards violent and extreme Hinduism. Such statements are divisive and the leader should not have indicated it in the speech. The actual task of a political leader is that take right constitutional step to promote communal harmony. Giving good speeches make them clear in the school of Parliament but the main task of a Parliamentarian is to follow the constitution. The BJP had, whenever it got an opportunity, drafted any provision in favor of Hindus or Hinduism too has not come to light. But the Congress appears to have vowed to draft laws, supporting separatism. It is not fair. It is also not the principle of Congress. It is a path of division and disintegration. It is the basic responsibility of a national political party to unite and not divide. India is the alone country in the world, where majority community do not enjoy special privilege or protection. In all the European nations, Christian religion has been granted special status while in Muslim dominated countries; Muslim religion followers have special privilege and rights. The same is the condition in Buddha states. Adding a sub section in the part 4 of the Constitution, article 38, 39 or 41 could give special protection right but even BJP did no do it. Resultantly, it is cognizable offense to comment against any of the minority religion but not

if anyone says against Hindu religion or gives open hate speech. To make the administration taking action, some Hindu community member would have to file a case in the court of law. But the Police itself are bound to take action against anybody, who speaks, propagates or publicizes against minority community and there is no need to approach directly to the court. This is the legal situation prevailing in India and hence has to be balanced at the level of the law. The law would have to be amended to give protection and patronage to the majority Hindu community as has been given to minority communities. In many other countries, the majority community has been given special privileges and we need to take lesson from it. At least give equal respect and patronage to the majority community if not as compared to the minority community. But there is another argument that Hindus are not majority community in India. They are sub divided in to various castes. Gandhiji himself had in an article published in 1947 given the same argument. The topic of the article was `Fiction of majority`. But going by this logic, even minority community is not a minority. If we take undivided India, it consists of three nations Bharat, Pakistan and Bangladesh, as in present status. In all the three countries, the total population of Muslims goes nearly 50 crore. Now why a community of 50 crore people should be considered as minority, is a million dollar question. But for media, it is no issue. The important issue for them is to highlight the lack of rights and privileges to a particular community (which itself is basically wrong) and go overdrive against the allegations on the spiritual leader of other community. The carriers of the communal politics are their subordinates. Furthermore in Bharat, the most communal people, portray them as the most secular people. In which direction the country is heading towards? The most important thing is to talk of the rule of law, justful administration and the state rather than singing the song of rule of the law. The law, which is discriminatory, shall be amended at once. Any law, which strengthens discrimination on the basis of religion, does not give justice. Such laws should be eliminated. Under Section 368 of the Constitution, the honorable Parliament has the right to make justifiable amendments in the constitution.

fires in the body. The first one is `jathragni`, 2-8, seven `dhatvagnia` and 9 to 13, five `bhutagniya`.

`Jathragni`

he element, which moulds meals according to the body need is `agni` and the complete process is called digestion and metabolism. These fires generate various digestive juices in stomach and liver and with the help of such liquids all objects, solid, partially solid or viscous liquids convert into metals or soils. Though, after digestion of the food, in circulating energy to all the parts of the body, `vyan vat` and sources carrying `bhojan ras` play a crucial part but the role of `jathragni` is the most important. In its absence, neither the intake meal would be purified nor different juices would be prepared. Ayurveda says, a person would die in absence of `agni`. Its deformation makes a person ill and regularization ensures longevity of the age.

In the above paragraph, `jathragni` has found mention. It is also called `pachak agni` or `kaya agni`. It exists between large and small intestines, near bellybutton. Akin to the sun, which soaks water from wells, lakes, rivers with the help of rays, this fire too, with the help of rays digests the food intake. Whatever we eat, this fire disintegrates it in small parts according to the body need. Hence, `jathragni` makes preliminary changes in the body intake and helps in maintaining energy, power, physical development, age, speech, enthusiasm, aura, bodily temperature and other fires within the body. To assist in its tasks, it has to be uniform. The four states of `jathragni` could be vishmagni, teekshnagni, mandagni and samagni.

`Vishmagni`

A human being has 13 different types of

As it is clear by its name, it inflames fast sometimes and slow on occasions. It may be

even also. Thus, many times, the digestion is at a fast pace or slow at others. Depending on the heat generated it may be normal also. The condition of `agni` is due to `vat dosha`, which could cause intense pain, upward movement of gas, constipation, heaviness, intestines problem, dropsy, diarrhea, dysentery and other problems.

`Teekshagni`

This is intense fire, which digests edibles in very less time. Whatever the human being eats it digests and hence, the diet increases. This condition is also called `atyagni` or `bhasmak. This category of `jathragni` is caused due to `pitta dosha`. The throat, lips and tongue turn dry. After digestion, this fire develops macies, warmness in throat, dryness on lips with burning sensation. Similar symptoms develop on tongue also.

convert the food, crushed to minute particles by the `jathragni` into liquid, needed by the body. Each of the fire mentioned above digests its part of `mahabhut` from water, soil and convert according to the body need. Hence, the food available in the liver digestive system is divided into five categories and mix with the `mahabhut` present in different body parts to cater it, providing nutritious elements.

`Dhatvagnia`

`Mandagni`

The fire is too dim and hence it fails to digest even normal intake food in less quantity. This category `jathragni` is due to the excessive `kapha-dosha`. As a result, problems like heaviness in head and stomach, cough, breathing problem, drooling, vomiting, bodily weakness arise.

This is again a different category of body fire. With the help of `jathragni` and `bhutagni`, intake juice converts into five `bhuts` and reaches `dhatwashaya`, the juices available there re-digest it following which it converts into various metals. When metals are seven are in numbers so are the `agnis`. They are Rasagni, Raktagni, Masagni, Medogni, Asthi agni, Majjagni and Shukragni (in males) and Rajogni (in females). With the digestion process, some waste also generates. Thus, the digestion system related to all the three types of `agnis` stated above could be briefly cleared in following manner. When meal reaches in the mouth, the saliva present in tongue and throat mixes, which also ascertains the taste of the meal. Now meal reaches stomach, where stomach saliva (liquid and smooth) mixes to it, which transforms meal into liquid, foam containing oleaginous substance. Thus, the food digestion is proper in stomach. Later, the half-baked juice reaches to `pakwashaya` (duodenum) through the upper part of small intestine. `Jathragni` acts with `vaat` and `pitta`. The digestion `pitta` absorbs water content of the digestive juice, which then turns into a solid mass, which is called `pind`. Here, the intake is divided into two parts `sar` and `asar`. The properly digested part o the food in liquid form is called `sar`. This `sar` is the first metal saliva, which

` Samagni`

This `jathragni` digests entire meal, taken in appropriate quantity and time as in this fire `vata`, `pitta` and kapha` are equal. It regularly digests food.

`Dosha` in excess `Agni` `vatta` Odd, intense or slow `Pitta` Intense `Kapha` Slow Normal Uniform, nor too in tense, nor too low `Bhutagnia` This group of `agnis`, lie in the liver. On the basis of five `mahabhut`, these `agnis` are also divided into five groups. They are 1) Bhaumagni 2) Apyagni 3) Agneyagni 4) Vayvyagni and 5) Akashagni. These `agnis`

due to `jathragni` turns smooth and oleaginous. This saliva further mixes with other edibles. If `jathragni` is not so intense, the `sar` would not be refined properly and the saliva would be bitter and alkaline. The saliva would have toxins and it would generate more diseases. The other part of the food, which is not digestive properly is called as `kitta` or `asar`. Thus, the solid waste is collected as stool, while liquid as urine and collect at the lower end of the duodenum. In this circumstances, five `bhutagni` initiate their work. This diet-saliva travels in entire body and hence the nutritious fluid reaches in every part of the body, where the nutrients of all the seven metals are available in original form. Due to `dhatvagini`, a little portion of acid also develops, which is called `ojas`. It has been described earlier. In the entire digestive system, `pitta` has special importance and hence some ayurvedic experts consider `pitta` and `agni` as the same element. In all the seven `dhatvagniya`, elements of `pachan pitta` play active role. Hence, in agni other qualities besides pittas quality do exist, which ultimately conclude the entire digestion process. All the seven `dhatvagniya` react to the edible liquid, which further prepare seven metals separately. They are further divided

into three groups 1) Major 2) Micro and 3) Stool. Of it, the major part nourishes same metal while the micro part nourishes next metal from itself while stool nourishes stool-products. Hence, with the reaction of each `dhatvagni` one or the other product is prepared. For example, when `ras dhatu` reacts with `dhatvagni`, the major part nourishes `ras dhatu` and micro portion prepared `rakta dhatu` while stool portion is converted into cough, spittle and others. With the reaction of other `dhatvagnis`, the same process continues, which is as follows.

When the `jathragni` or `dhatvagni` are not so intensified, the food in stomach and `grahni` is not digested completey and this undigested juice is called `aam ras`. This `aam ras` is virulent and could cause diseases in the body as the `anna ras` could not be transformed into the body metals as till than it is in the form of `aam ras` only. It could collect in some part of the body like lungs, heart or some other place taking shelter. Generally, they are collected in brain, chest, stomach or intestines. The impurities are deposited in stomach related body part and develop problems like indigestion. Combined with other diseases, if affects other body parts also like `tamakshwas`. Due to the weakness of `dhatvagnis`, `aam ras` is developed, which is the main reason of developing several diseases. Thus, all the

The symptoms include blockage in the sources of perspiration, urine, lack of power, laziness, cough or spittle in more quantity, stool in less quantity or almost no discharge, nausea, tiredness and other symptoms indicate `saam` diseases. The symptoms opposite to it indicate `niram rogas` or `doshas`. It is already said that lack of proper digestion causes `aam doshas`. If in the source, where due to the collection of `aam` or waste products blockage has occurred, activate the digestion juice or `agni` so that it could be converted into the body metals or waste products exit from the body. In nearly all the medicines of Ayurveda, such medicines are mixed which intensify digestion process. Vomiting, enema and other such actions too oust body waste products so that `agnis` performs normally. The `agni` is more intense in childhood but the quantity of the meal is less. With increase in age, till youth it further intensifies and hence digestion and metabolic process go normally. It increases body size and weight. Normally till 40 years, it keeps on intensifying. But remains stagnant between 40-60 years of age and then start decreasing. Hence, the body does not get proper nutritious elements. The body metals and qualities start deceasing and the body turns weak. The person feels weak, physically and mentally. It is called old age. The ayurveda medicines activates digestion `agnis` and `ras` so that the age related diseases are kept at a bay.

Due to the weakness of `dhatvagnis`, `aam ras` develops, which blockages formation of body metals, developing various diseases in the body.

Millet:

The Ayurveda suggests that millet is warm and coarse and heavy nature in digestion. It should be less used as its more use results into constipation, stone and asperity. After taking food items, containing millet, take `gur`, which helps in proper digestion and formation of blood. But it is harmful for pregnant woman and could even cause miscarriage. In the winter season, though, its use is very beneficial. `Rotis` prepared of millet with `khichri` is the best available food. In Rajasthan, it is prepared with `rajma` (kidney beans), which is eaten with `gur` and sesame oil. For diabetic patients, millet is useful as it does not allow sugar percentage to increase in blood. In terms of protein, it is good as compared to rice. With `ghee` mixed with millet flour, tasty `laddus` could be prepared. It contains vitamin B and other minerals in adequate quantity. Sprouted millet and its biscuits are also useful. The varieties of bitter lemons are `kagazi`, `bijora`, `galgal`, `gudaria` and `nepali`. Of the available varieties, `kagazi` is the best variety. In western countries, specifically in America big shaped lemons are more popular. But in absence of one category, another could be used. The big shaped lemons contain more quantity of citric acid. The lemons are rich in citric acid and vitamin c, which are utilized for urine related diseases and antiscurvy element. This also controls blood sugar and cholesterol. Iqbal has rightly said the lines, mentioned in the headline in context of Bharat. Every mystery is concealed in it. It is really a mystery, a puzzle and a big question. Though, it is not only India, which could not be decimated. Other nations, which could not be wiped out and exist on the world map are China, Greece, Rome, Babylon, Iran and a few others. Now they exist, true but do they exist as Bharat. Perhaps no. Hence Iqbal had said that even if they exist it is just for the namesake. Their original identity, civilization, culture has been destroyed. Alama

`Kuch baat hai ki hasti mitti nahi hamari`

In the conflict of thesis and anti-thesis, there is formation of synthesis. Debate, negation and then communication and communication mean mutual coordination. Now coordination is the process in which the originality always remains safe. It is never stayed or destroyed. It remains in the form of minute seed. If the origin is weak, it would not take longer to get damaged. The originality of Bharat is so strong that even after many invasions, its identity is unblemished. Though the invaders had come to take gold and other valuables, a few of them also worked to make Bharat as `civilized`. But what happened? Those, who lived in India, molded themselves. Iqbal has rightly said that many ships of civilization anchored on the shore in India but sank. How it happened? The first reason, which I could understand is when the civilization in other countries was in their childhood, we had attained maturity. Looking a little backward, we could find that Bharat was unmatched. Sikandar, Hun, Arabs, Mongolians, Mughals came to India but just think about the nations from where they came, stood in comparison to India. Sikandar came from Greece in the era Plato and Aristotle. Just compare the writing of Plato and Aristotle Republic and Politics- with our Upnishads, Ramayans, Mahabharat and creations of Kalidas, Kautilya, what the conclusion we would draw? Leave these scripts, which came at a later stage, just think of

Dr Ved Pratap Vedic

he time has engulfed their originality. Their tradition has changed. The change has overpowered the tradition. Some changed their religion, some language, some name and a few others their life style. The storm of change wiped out their originality. But what is the quality in India that here change and the tradition are walking side by side and mutually strengthening. Their rivalry is not a cause of destruction but origination and construction. It is creation out of the conflict, in similar manner as the German philosopher Hegel had ever thought.

Rigveda, Shaddarshan, Jain and Baudh religion. Do we find any parallel to them in Western countries? These countries, civilizations and the societies, when were putting first step towards the development, Bharat was a full-grown nation with the establishment of a caste based system. The state authorities were matured, the economy was healthy. The state, family, individual and personalized institutions were working in harmony with well-defined mutual relationship. The stage, where West took centuries to reach, facing industrial revolution, revival, imperialism, blood clashes in France and Russia and the disaster of world wars, India had reached 2500 years ago. The ideals propagated by Bharat nearly 2500 years ago are still unmatchable. Does anybody find better ideas from any civilization till now? Whoever came to India was mesmerized with its beauty and wealth but also with the intellectual caliber. What such invaders could give to India? The attackers looted India but surrendered before the intellectual assets. The description of Fa-hien, Hein Sang, Ibn Battuta, Al-Biruni and Vernier besides others certifies the fact. What is the value of Bible, Quran, Macbeth and Prince, Origin of Species or Das Kapital before the people, who have Vedas, Sandhya and Vaisheshik philosophy, Upnishads, Tripataks, Arthshastras, Abhigyanashakuntalam, Ramayana and Mahabharat with them? In other words, the intellectual assets of our country kept it alive. The massive integrated intellectual self-confidence has enhanced its digestion capacity. Its digestion capacity or say acceptability more accurately, was so big that the religions like Islam and Christianity, which bow before only one super-power had to be accommodative. Bharat absorbed these non-Bharat religions, which have turned to Indianization. I could say that Christianity and Islam ascended to higher grades here. Based on old religious books, both the religions do not believe in re-birth, but their Indian editions are not free from such concepts. The non-Indian followers of these religions fade away before Indians, deeply involved in `Bhakti Ras`. Just think, why Indian Muslim of Christian looked better as compared to their counterparts in any other nation? The reason is because they stand

at an excellent spiritual and cultural land. This asset is invaluable for anyone. The fact does not implement alone on the middle-age non-Indian streams. It does exist on the modern and present India. During the 200 years of rule of British Government, the westernization did prevail on India but India did not convert to Communism as China or Capitalist as Japan. It grew modern but without westernization. It was never the carbon copy of any civilization. It has its own original civilization, which held it firmly. Its roots are so deep that an emperor bows before a `faqir`. It is the miracle of its old power that it is surging ahead of its old masters. It is learning their language and putting them on met in their own house. The Indians, living in America are considered to be the most prosperous and powerful group among the expats. If our dignified population could understand the strength and importance of our own language and work in different style, none can stop us becoming words super power. But it is no time to feel satisfied on our own stature but to move ahead of it. After thousands years of journey, India has valuable experiences and the world could be benefitted of it. It is our duty to share our experiences so that others could also grow. It is correct that we dont have the money to distribute with open hands to the world. Also we dont have the power to suppress the world but its excellent digestion capacity and intense tolerance power makes it unique. Now why this uniqueness of India should not be shared with others? Is it not true that the kind of understanding we have in spiritualism and science, this world and the other world, the devotee and the god, the state and the citizen, selfishness and charity, is not available to any part of the word? It is the same quality, which keeps India different and ahead in the war of civilization. It is the Indian culture, which unites and not separates the different civilizations. The world, worst sufferer due to nuclear weapons, terrorism and poverty can not be saved by communism and capitalism. The communism has bowed down while capitalism is slowly edging out. In this hour of crisis, only India, which has survived centuries due to its strong background, could only save the world. Only India could give surviving `mantra` to the world.

How to test the disease

The test f the disease is possible with tests of hemoglobin, the concentration of hemotoxin and the number of blood cells present in the blood. If the quantity of these elements is below average, it is clear symptom that a person is victim of anemia. The primary test is related to CBC, GBC / PBS. It is worth remembering that the lack of vitamin B-12, Fluoride acid and protein and iron reduce blood formation process, which ultimately cause anemia. In addition to the above said elements, TIBC and other tests could also ascertain the lack of blood formation. Cancer, TB and kidney problem also slow the formation of blood. To confirm the problem, PBS, GBP, bone marrow, S Critinin and other tests are conducted. TB.

The anemia disease is caused due to lack of iron in the body. l Worms in the stomach could also cause anemia disease. l Lack of Vitamin B- 12, Folic acid is directly related to formation of blood, which is the main reason behind anemia disease. l The ill-effects of medicines could also cause anemia disease. l Rheumatic fever is also one of the reasons of anemia. l Pregnant women, if have fever during delivery period could also be effected to anemia. l Old TB disease is also a reason for the disease. l Dyspeptic also reduces blood formation, which could cause anemia. l If the mother is anemic, the iron supply to the child also reduces and there is ample danger that the infant could be gripped by anemia. l The soil-eating children are also affected of anemia. l The diseases of the marrow and liver also cause anemia. l The ulcer in stomach is also one reason of anemia. l With blood repeatedly coming out of the body due to any reason, anemia grips the body. l Frequent deliveries, blood release in menstrual, abortions are also main reasons of anemia. l Scurvy disease also cause anemia. l Nose bleeding is also a reason for major blood loss. The non- availability of nutritious food could also be a reason of disease. l Repeated bout of malaria also cause anemia.

The natural farming of `ashwagandha` in Paanjali Yogpeeth

Ashwagandha (withania somnifera) is a known herbal pant in our Ayurveda culture. Its demand is increasing regularly and to keep the fact in mind, the Patanjali anti-toxin agriculture department has developed an agriculture technique to take ashwagandha crop on regularly basis. The process could add up the production by 30 percent per acre.
Dr Rajesh Jain
Gaushala farms, Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar.

N
Soil

ormally, for the ashwagandha farming the climate of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana is suitable and Patanjali toxin-free farming division has added that places with annual rainfall 600-800 mm are also suitable for the purpose.

The soil should have PH value between 6 -8 and not be gumbo soil. Generally, loam soil is better. This soil type has more carbonic substances and hence the roots develop strong and long.

Preparing the farm

In the field, which is being prepared for ashwagandha, toil it deeply twice in April month with the help of cultivator or plough. Afterwards put 2000 liter Patanjali Sanjeevak fertilizer in each acre. After one week, sow nearly 10 kg of green seeds in per acre of land. When the green crop is 40-days old, toil it doubly. After the soil turns loose, prepare 1 meter broad and 18 meters long bed. Then sow the seeds within the bed.

Treatment of seeds

One acre of land needs 5.5 kg of seeds. Before sowing, the seeds need to be treated naturally. This saves them from many diseases. For the seed treatment, arrange the following items.
32 & yogsandesh & November 2013

a) b) c) d) e)

Domestic cow dung 3 kg Domestic cow urine 5 kg Ash of `havan` - 1 kg Lime 400 grams Water 5 kg

Before treatment of the seeds, mix 3 kgs of cow dung in 5 liter of cow urine. Then mix 1 kg of ash and 6 liter fresh water. Stir it well, with the help of a stick for around 30 minutes. Then filter it with cotton cloth. Now mix 400 grams of lime. In the prepared solution, keep the seeds 5.5 kgs in weight for 20 minutes. Later dry them and use for sowing.

Sowing of seeds

In the prepared field, sow the treated seeds, 4 inches from the boundary with hands. The distance between each line should be around 30 cms and seed to seed, 10 cms. Sow the seeds in 1 cm deep pit. During sowing, the farm should have adequate moisture for germination. If the soil does not have moisture, then irrigate the land. During irrigation, mind that water does no gets accumulated.

within 65-70 days after sowing. Note During intercultural operation, the weeds and other waste plants should not be thrown but buried in the empty place of the bed.

Irrigation

Use of fertilizer

In the farming of ashwaganda, the Sanjeevak fertilizer made of cow urine, `gur` and cow dung is very useful. After 45 days of the sowing of the seeds, use 1,000 liter of Sanjeevak fertilizer during irrigation. Again after 70 days, use 1500 liter of Sanjeevak fertilizer, which increases the width and size of the roots. Third time, the fertilizer should be given to the crops, when fruits start growing. The contents of Patanjali Sanjeevak fertilizer (for 200 liter capacity) 1) Fresh cow dung of cow 60 kg 2) Cow urine, 6 months old 8 liter 3) `Gur`, (molasses) 2 years old 2 kgs 4) Water 130 liters.

Though, this crop does not need more water but still first irrigation has to be done after 70 days of the sowing. But be attentive to avoid water logging on the bed. When the fruits start growing, irrigate plants once again.

Safety of the crops from harmful insects

`Nirai gudai` (intercultural operation)

The first intercultural operation should be held after 32-35 days of sowing of the seeds. It should be 2 inches deep, which helps in the better development of the roots due to aeration. Second intercultural operation has to be done

1) White grv The insect attacks the roots of ashwagandha due to which the plant turns pale and ultimately dry. It damages the plants in the first 40 days. Treatment Take 20 liter butter milk, add 50 grams original asafetida and 20 liters of water. Sprinkle the mix on crop on one acre, which keeps it safe. 2) Root-knot nematode Root-knot nematodes are plants from the genus Meloidogyne Incognita. Root-knot nematode larvae infect plant roots, causing the development of root-knot galls that drain the plant's photo synthetic and nutrients. It stops the growth of the plant and reduces the production.

Treatment

1) During preparation of the sowing of seeds, use green fertilizer crop. 2) Take 2 kgs of green vitriol, grind and mix with 5 liter of kerosene oil. Mix it further with 40 liters of water. Sprinkle the mixture near the roots of the plants. The treatment makes it safe from the root-knot nematode.

process of photosynthesis is blocked, with the development of the plant.

Treatment

Damping-off and Seedling rot

For the care of the crop, make a paste of 4 kg of garlic and 4 kg of hot green chilly, after crushing it. Boil the paste in 10 liter of cow urine. After the solution turns cold, filter it and again mix with 30 liters of water. Sprinkle the mix on the crops, following which the insects would be controlled.

It is the most dangerous diseases for ashwagandha plants. It attacks within 40 days of the sowing. It is developed due to alternaria virus. It is a disease of germinating seeds and seedlings caused primarily by fungi. The plant could wither in a single day. It grips the crops in the month of August- September, when the climate has humidity, with high temperature.

Collection of crops

When the leaves of ashwagandha pants start falling, it is the right time for the collection of crops. The seeds ripe and turn red in color. Irrigate the crop once again and after three days, pull out the roots. The roots should be dried after chopping it in 4 inches pieces. Seeds should be collected at a clean place and dried in the shadow. When the moisture percentage of seeds reduce to 10-12 percent, keep them in earthen pots, with dry `neem` leaves mixed with ash.

Treatment

To control the disease, from the second week of August till September, sprinkle Patanjali Nimbadi insecticide, on weekly basis. 10 liters of Nimbadi could be mixed with 30 liters of water and sprinkled on the crop after sun set.

Production

Logically, this can only happen in superimposition through illusion: as that of a ghost seen in the stump of a tree; the ghost is in the stump, from the point of view of the man, who is standing in the dark, but the stump is never in the ghost. Similarly, the universe is superimposed on the Lord, seen in his place through me, but he is not in it. To one whose mind is subject to the dualistic delusion, caused by the passions of desire and aversion, there cannot indeed arise a knowledge of things as they are, even of the external world; far less can such an intellect grasp the transcendental knowledge of the innermost Self. This ignorance take me as an ordinary mortal, assuming embodiment from the unmanifested state, like all other men, being impelled by the force of past Karma. This is due to their ignorance of my real nature; hence they do not worship me, the one without a second. To one whose mind is subject to the dualistic delusion, caused by the passions of desire and aversion, there cannot indeed arise a knowledge of things as they are, even of the external world; far less can such an intellect grasp the transcendental knowledge of the innermost self. While accepting the creatures, still I do not instill `me` in them. This is the biggest strength of the creator of the universe. Look at the leaf of lotus. It is in water but still not. This is the mystery, which is not visible. It is hidden, a secret. Lord Krishna has, made this mystery `guru` and want to educate Arjuna. He said that as the lord created every particle of the universe, exists in every particle but still not in the universe. Likewise, a human being, while living on the universe, do `karmas` but still remains disassociated, means he has been educated on `Rajvidhya` and `Rajguha`. 7) All beings, O son of Kunti, go into my `prakriti` at the end of a `kalpa`. I send them forth again at the beginning of (the next) `kalpa`. Resorting to my `prakriti`, I again and again send forth the whole multitude of beings, powerless under the control of the `prakriti`. There is no other cause of the universe but me.

High blood pressure:

Reasons and remedy
Dr Nagendra Kumar Niraj
Yoggram, Haridwar.

many other `achievements` (read curse) of the modern life of competition, tension, pressure and Besides problems, blood pressure is also one major such `achievement`. In America alone, over 11 lakh people die of high blood pressure every year. In India, over 1 crore people are affected due to the disease. The dreaded disease, which takes life without any warning, is slowly gripping the world. Where ever the modernization has spread its tentacles, the disease too has strengthened itself. High blood pressure is also said to be the silent killer. Without pre-symptoms, it could cause heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, brain hemorrhage and paralytic attack. So get the details of the disease and remain alert with the merciless, hidden enemy disease in the body.

he heart pumps blood to every part of the body. The impure de-oxygenated blood, through nerves returns to the heart. Pressure in the arteries is caused by heart as it pumps blood. A certain level of pressure in the blood is essential for the blood to circulate. However, when the pressure becomes too high it results in hypertension. Hypertension is caused by narrowing of blood vessels called capillaries. As capillaries narrow, heart gets more stressed to pump blood through the blood vessels. The highest pressure reaches during each heart beat is called Systolic pressure and the lowest the pressure reaches between two heartbeats is called diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure indicates activity of the heart and diastolic pressure is the pressure in artery when heart is relaxed, thus it shows condition of blood vessel. To make the life healthy and prosperous, the pressure of the blood is necessary. The pressure varies, depending on the body structure. With normal pressure of the blood, artery supply it in every part of the body. It is not possible that the blood pressure does not exist at all or if it is too low, life is not possible. The direct relationship of blood pressure is with heart. The control of blood pressure is being done from the heart. Heart, being the shape of closed fist or pear, is on the 36 & yogsandesh & November 2013

left side of the body, hanging with the help of nerves. Its length is 15 cms and weight approximate 400-500 grams. When it is tasted with stethoscope, its beats could be easily heard. The heart, like a pump, throws blood to the upper and lower limbs. Daily, blood runs in 60,000 miles long artery at the speed of 65 kms per hour. In entire clock cycle, means in 24 hours, 4,000 gallon blood is supplied by the heart. The instrument, which measures blood pressure, is sphygmomanometer. It has a hollow strip, which is tied on the arm of the patient. This strip is connected to a mercury filled duct. The doctor fills the hollow strip with air till the blood circulation stops for a while. When the nerve stops, means blood circulation is fast. It could be clearly heard with stethoscope. Earlier, the voice would be slow means the stopped nerve has re-started. The measurement at this time is systolic blood pressure and the measurement on which the sound stops after a little louder voice, means the nerve restores in original form is called diastolic blood pressure. The general high blood pressure, systolic of a healthy adult human being is 120 mm/hg and diastolic is

The blood pressure of a healthy person is 120/80 mm/hg. The systolic pressure is 120 mm/hg, while diastolic temperature measures at 80 mm/hg. With increasing diastolic, heart gets less time to rest, reducing its work efficiency.
Natural therapy
Constipation leads to the deposition of the night soil, which gets putrefying in the intestines. Toxins, thus produced are absorbed by the blood and pollute entire mechanism. This leads to irregular blood circulation, which ultimately increases blood pressure. The black soil strip should be kept on the head, stomach and spinal chord of the patient. The stomach and spinal chord should be massaged, hot and cold. Take enema with one liter moderate water, mixed with lemon. Continue the medication for five days. After enema, depending on the condition of the patient suggest warm feet bath, spine bath, full tub bath, cold waist bath, hydroriflex zone therapy, sun bath or air bath. Take sun bath, air bath, river, pond or lake bath regularly. In emergency, keep cold water strips on the head, spinal chord and stomach. The patient should not be given intense sun bath. When the blood pressure turns normal, put a cloth across his chest and give vapor bath and later tie wet sheet. Give a little vapors to the spinal chord and a massage, gives relief to the patient. Give a full-body massage at least once a week. But the massage should not be upward towards heart. The massage to the spinal chord and dry massage should be taken by the patient himself regularly. The massage should be like that the patient does not get tired. The above treatment helps in bringing hypertension in normal state. 80 mm/hg, means 120/80 mm/ hg. Systolic is the measurement of the pressure, when the heart works at the time of contraction and the measurement is the rest condition between beats. More the diastolic, less is the rest time of the heart which means that the work efficiency of the heart is decreasing. With the heart beats, pure oxygenated blood is supplied through nerve to the heart, brain, liver, spleen and other major parts. The artery and veins are connected through minute ducts, which are called as arteriole, with width 0.005 mm. The arteriole keeps shrinking and expanding. During heart beat, the arterioles are open and hence the blood pressure is normal, but when it contracts, the blood pressure increases. Exercise, tension, pressure, smoking, liquor consumption, asans, pranayam, meditation and sleep and in other such circumstances, blood pressure keeps fluctuating. Blood pressure is necessary for the nutrition of the body. Blood pressure, more or less than normal has ill-effects on the physical, mental and psychological health.

recently. In the book, the scientific research based analysis of the individual treatment on the body has been given. He has done lot of work in naturopathy also. With the impact of moisture level, temperature, speed and direction of air, helps a lot during air bath. It strengthens the immune system of the body. It also informed that due to the scientific reasons available in the weather, the body is hardened and resultantly the temperature controlled institution, exchange of gases and inter-cell breathing has more stability. With more temperature in the weather, humidity increases. In hot air bath, due to radiation of ultra violet rays, the pressure on artery increases. But the artery pressure decreases, while taking cold air bath. The air bath should be taken with the advice of the expert only as bathing in different temperatures has different effects. During sun bath, keep attention on the intensity of the sun. In morning and evening, the ultra violet rays are not so intense and hence, the bath is beneficial. The experiments have proved that the intensity of ultra violet rays is more between 11 am to 1 pm in the afternoon and taking bath in such condition is harmful. In the evening, the intensity of infra red rays is more. Infra red rays have temperature control and barrier hindering effect. The ultra violet rays have biochemical and physical effects. The infra red rays could affect upto 4 cm depth in the skin while ultra violet cast affects upto 1 mm depth. The sun rays therapy gives strength of the arteries and helps removing blockages on the skin, in the arteries of heart, brain and help in

Resultantly, systolic blood pressure reduces. The sea bath is also beneficial as sodium chloride and other chemicals present in the sea water affects exteroceptors of the skin and changes the electrical potential of the brain. The metabolic process too gets better. The contraction of artery and cells too is removed and the blood pressure is normalized. The blood and nerve circulation also regulates. Sea bath, taking stroll in fresh air, sleeping under open sky and physical exercises helps controlling the blood circulation towards the heart. The heart gains more strength and the oxygen absorption capacity of the blood increases. The different processes of water treatment are directly related to the muscles, blood circulation. The dissolved gases and other elements present in the body too get absorbed by the body and hence it reduces the toughness and contraction of muscles and blood arteries. The blood circulation is regulated. The Peripheral vascular controls resistance and cardiac output and reduces blood pressure. With spinal chord massage, all-body massage, hot feet bath, vapor bath, full tub bath, putting wet cloth sheet all fasten the blood flow towards the skin. It also removes the blockages in the muscles and blood circulation. Cortisone, rennin, aldosterone, sodium, cholesterol, copper cerulo-plasmin, blood pressure increasing chemicals reduce to normal percentage. With reduced copper percentage, the quantity of andrilin too reduces resultantly, the artery pressure decreases. The vapor bath helps in strengthening skin and kidney, which intensifies the process of toxin removal.

Yoga therapy

regulating and controlling blood circulation. It also expands arteries and arteriole, smoothing the blood circulation and hence reducing the pressure. It also strengthens sensitive muscle system. Swimming is the best medicine for the patients of high blood pressure. The swimming activates skin and neurological muscle system and hence due to reaction, the blood circulation in the brain is regulated. 38 & yogsandesh & November 2013

The hypertension patients should have light exercises as other patients with blood pressure problem. They should walk and swim, according to their capacity. The blood pressure patient should not do `sheershasan, chakrasan, dhanurasan, kati-shaktivikasak` and other exercises, which are exhaustive. The heart patients should perform udarshakti vikasak, uttanpadasan, shalbhasan, bhujangasan, naukasan, taramatyasan, shavasan and meditation. Padmasan, paschimottanasan, gaumukhasan and pranayam, reciting `om` would also be beneficial. For more details of the exercises read `Prakratik chikitsa evam yoga` of the writer of this article. Take training of the exercises, under the supervision of any expert. The curse of the todays developing civilization, high blood pressure could be best controlled with natural and yoga medical therapy and living life with nature.

77. Swadoritha vishuvato madho pibanti gaurya. Ya indren sayavarivrirshna madanti shobhya vasvirnu swarajyam.
Elements `Gaurya` : The shining sun rays `itha`, really `vi-suvatah`, specially, the raining clouds on the earth `swado madho`, good taste accepts it or, the sun rays, which are associated to the `Indra` god enjoy it happily. Vasvi nivasak, the rays which run according to the `sun rajyam`, the sun. Meaning The aura of sun is worth seeing. How rays, uninterruptedly absorb the water in river, pond and oceans again turn into clouds and cause rainfall. We shall also act in similar manner and pray for the internal `swarajya` ( self rule) and the nations `swarajya`.

Bratanyasya sashnire puruni purvachittye vasveernu swarajyam.

Elements First in favor of sun rays. `Prachetsah pragyapaka taha`, means the sun rays, which give strength to the sun, even after it sets down. In the morning too, to the rays emerge before sun rise, only to tell about his arrival. In this manner, the rays follow `swarajyam` and increase the influence of the sun. Second, in favor of the army. `Prachetasa chittawali ta`, means the army which always live with the commander Indra and work according to his wish. They always praise the power of Indra and inform the enemy about it so as to scare them. Hence, they too act in according to the `swarajyam swarajya`. Meaning As the sun rays, along with the sun and the army, along with the commandant work for the welfare of the state. They act, praise their commander so that his influence could be created on the world and the rivals. In the same manner, the human being should, along with the almighty, improve spiritual self rule and the nations self rule.

78. Ta asya prashnayuv soma shrinatintah prishnaya. Priya indrasya dhenvo vajra hinvanti sayaka tasveernu swarajyam.
Elements Asya, this Indra named colorful rays of Sun appears to want to touch the moon and saturate its light. The sun rays act according to the direction of the sun i.e. `swarajyam`. Meaning it is praiseworthy work of the sun rays that they follow `swarajya` of the sun and enlighten the moon and other planets on the earth, helps rainfall with the clouds after lightening and make everybody happy. Thus, the human being should also enlighten its inner and outer `swarajya`.

How to live in the world

Acharya Pradhumnaji Maharaj

various examples in reply to the question. Here, we are presenting all of them respectively.
e said the human beings should live as the doctor or `vaidhyas` live amidst patients. The biggest quality of `vaidhya` is, they never hate the patient and always have pity and kindness for him. After a patient is cured, the feelings turn to love and affection. Love and affection to the happy persons and pity and kindness towards, those who are in pain, ideally are the two feelings, a `vaidhya` has in the mind. A `vaidhya` never says to the patient, not even think of it that it all is the result of your `karma`. You had committed sins and now get the according results. What can I do? Vaidhya has no feelings like sin, crime, injustice or atrocities towards anyone. Whoever comes to him, he considers him/her as a patient or person in sorrow. As the almighty dont discriminate between any two human beings in the universe and equally distribute glory and prosperity to them. Vaidhya also, with whatever qualities he has, tries to give happiness to everybody, as he has taken vow for it. A person may reach a vaidhya soon after committing murder but for the vaidhya, he is just a patient. Hence, Maharajshri said live like a `vaidhya` in this world. A good practitioner does not expect any praise or prize in return of his services. The patient takes his services, many times; the vaidhya is beaten-up as patients could be of different types. Someone, dissatisfied with the treatment even spit on his face but vaidhya forgive them all, giving a pity to them saying - poor patient. But think deeply, various nouns are used for the situations, which cast deep impact on the persons life. None could deny the impact of such nouns and its importance on the human life. The

Once, human beings should live in this world? Maharaj gave

the writer of this article asked Shri Maharaj, how the

noun, according to its name, cast an impact on the life. As, if someone is hungry and if the thought comes to his mind today I am hungry, could die of hunger. And thinking it, he would have pain but had he considered that he is fasting today, he could have drawn peace. The action is same, but different terms for the same action cast different impacts. Everybody experiences it in daily life. Every word has a different and specific meaning. The word and its meaning have deep relationship. The word is pronounced with voice (or sometimes by heart). It is heard by ears but the light of the word comes from the mind. As the wisdom has the light of the word, similarly, a human being generates a feel according to the sensitivity or internal demand, present in his inner conscience. If the soul of a human being is not sensitive, then,

40 & yogsandesh & November 2013

although, the words would be present in his brain but could not derive the proper meaning from the heart. The centre of the sentiments is heart. Thus, the untold centre of our power is heart, but it is different from the heart, which refines blood in the body. Hirdaya, nabhi, Kendra, prajapati, urdhya, avyakta, anirukta, guha, gahavareshta, guhahit garbha, guha brahma, paroksha, amurta, nabhyak, hiranyagarbha, ajayaman, amrit all are different Vedic nomenclature for the same element. Baudhas called it as `zero`. In `yagna`, Brahma is made to symbolize this element, which is `pratishtha`. Hence, the entire circle moves according to the condition of the heart. Thus, heart is an internal part of our existence and hence invisible but on it depends the entire life cycle. Shri Maharaj has in `ashraya` made a `sarovar` (pond) symbol of the heart. Like, an ocean is considered as a treasurer of valuable diamonds and likewise, the heart is also an infinite source of such divine feelings and sentiments. But to achieve its depth, one has to dive repeatedly with intense desire. This process of diving repeatedly is called mediation. OK, so we were talking of the sentiments, being produced with the different meaning of the same word. `Maa`, this word incites different sentiments different from the word wife. Friend or enemy both cast just opposite impact. It is something to be understood with experience. While meeting some saint, someone says ascetic seer while other person could say a hypocrite. Just imagine the difference between two-end thinking regarding the same personality. Now saying someone hypocrite or `ok, he is innocent` again generate different feelings. Whoever does sinful activities like thieves, dacoits, notorious, drunkards, sinners, Shri Maharaj says there should be only one word for them a patient. If we say someone a patient, the sentiments generating in our heart towards him would be different and full of pity, love and sympathy. Pronouncing him as a sinner would generate anger, hatred for him. Maharajshri says being

angry or hate towards anyone is harmful for both - one who is nursing the sentiments and the other, against whom the sentiments have been developed. It is harmful for the person, who is developing animosity as his heart would be impure and for the other, as he would have inferiority complex. He would not have enthusiasm in the life. Maharaj Shri says for the reformation of the sinner, this method is not right. Considering any person bad for ever, for a mistake he made in the life is not justifiable and a major blockade in his path of revival. The philosophy of Shri Maharaj is that only two things could bring drastic change in a person from getting transformed from a bad to good character. One is love and other is selfdesire. The intense love from others could change a person drastically. In some special circumstances, the love could come from the god also. Or his own self-desire to bring change within. It is the mental status, when intense enthusiasm is generated in a human being, who remains committed to change himself. He kills the weakness and evils in him. He has intense sentiments to get out of the situation. This intense fire is called `manyu`. It is not the situation of anger for others but it is the condition of personal anger for ownself to get transformed. Hence, a person could get transformed after repenting the past but for in public life; still he does not get pity in the society. Maharaj Shri says, when you consider any human being a patient, you would only hate his sins and not the sinner. You may love the sinner and try your best for his transformation. Once, one writer gave many reasons on `shethe shatya samacharet` but Maharaj continued to say one point yes if we would believe it as `shatha`, then we would have to agree to what you said. But once you identified him as a `rogi` (patient), the treatment would be different. The patient would be loved but treatment would be given to the disease. The writer again made his point Just believe that there is a thief. Maharaj immediately interrupted and said consider him as a patient. Of course, the diseases could have various forms and their treatments could also be different
November 2013 & yogsandesh

& 41

based on the disease. But the different patients should be seen in view of their nature, character, country, period, status and then decide the disease and its treatment. Maharaj said always remember that the patient always deserves sympathy. When the mother sees her child, eating soil on ground in childhood, her attitude and words change but without dent to the love she has within for the child. Thus, the mindset of a person, who is treating social patients should be as that of `vaidhya`. Maharaj has yet another suggestion for the people, who want to act as `vaidhyas`. The diseases could be infectious or transitive and hence, the `vaidhya` should be alert while treating the patients. One of the patients may be victim of excessive anger, another of greed, some may be suffering with the disease of excessive desire, and the list may include excessive lust, ego, jealousy or even of education, power, beauty and money. Some may have the habit of telling lies, some is habitual intoxicated, of abusing others, theft, violence and dissatisfaction. Some may be involved in violence, some in grip of laziness, some playing cards; someone is atheist, a traitor and others. This world is full of different diseases as it is full of different creatures. It has been said earlier that the diseases could be communicative and contagious or infectious and can be transmitted to others. When a doctor has to live, sit, eat amidst such patients, his condition is understandable. Hence, Vaidhya or the doctor should be equipped with safety gears as during operation, an expert is equipped with. A vaidhya, who wants to reform the social patients should have seer like cloths, which does not have any effect of any virus. These social doctors should also take vitamins of meditation, alertness and abstinence so that their resistance power gets strengthened regularly. The vaidhyas would have to take these precautionary steps. Now what is happening in this dispensary of the world that the resistance power has come down to zero and none is making efforts to improve the situation? All the patients, when meet get contaminated. When one speaks in harsh manner, his friend, standing infront of him to retaliate equally. If a friend is greedy or excessive desirous, his friend would also follow the suit. Hence, it is suggested to develop counter mechanism to remain unimpressive of the patients in the society. Even if a vaidhya is gripped of the disease, he should immediately take corrective measures or it would gain strength and develop other complications. If a person gets alert at the initial stage, he would not have trouble in controlling it. 42 & yogsandesh & November 2013

truth, righteousness and justice, in lieu of sin, non righteous behavior, oppression for a peaceful social order. He suggested some refined principles to have an ideal family, a model society and a perfect administrative system, which are given beloweditor
82. Rank karoti rajanam rajanam rankmev cha, dhanin nirdhana chev nirdhana dhanin vidhi.

Summary of

A person who has intelligence could have power too. A foolish person could not have power. Like, a lion, has proud of his power but was killed by a rabbit in the forest. The meaning is that an intelligence person could utilize his power properly. A senseless person can not use his power even if he has a lot of it.

madonmatta shashaken nipatit.

was one of the rare gems of Indian Acharya Chanakya soil. He tried hard all his life to establish

86. Varam vanam vyagragajendrasevitam trumalayam patrafalambubhojanam, trishenu shayya shatjeevarnavalkalam na bandhumadhye dhanhinjeevanam.

A person could live in the forests, with lions and elephants could make shelter on the tree and eat leaves and fruits from the forest, could sleep on a bed of straw, could make cloths with the help of bark of old trees but would not want to live with relatives with a curse of being a poor person. In the same couplet, Chanakya has said that poverty is a curse. A human being could tolerate anything but not an insult due to poverty before his near and dear ones.

Means, fortune is most powerful. The fortune could make a poor person, a king and a king, a penniless person. It is the fortune, which could turn the life of a human being. A poor person could become emperor while an emperor could lose everything.

87. Vipro vrikshastsya mulam cha sandhya veda shakha dharmakarmani patram, tasmanmulam yatnato rakshaniya chinne muley nave shakha na patram.

83. Rosha na vidhya na tapo na danam na sheel na, guno na dharma. Te martyasyaloke bhuvi bharbhuta manushyarupen mrigashranti.

The knowledgeable person is like a tree and his `aradhana` like the roots. `Vedas` are like branches of the tree and `dharmakarma` like leaves. Hence, a person shall always protect the roots as if roots are damaged, there would be no branches or the leaves. In this `shloka`, Chanakya has underlined the importance of prayer to the god to the learned and knowledgeable persons.

Those who are destitute of learning, penance, knowledge and good disposition, virtue and benevolence are brutes wandering the earth in the form of men. A person, who does not have education, `tapa`, tendency to donate, has no knowledge, decency and other qualities are no less to animals. In this world, you may come across several of such animals. In this famous quote Acharya Chanakya has underlined the importance of education and said that an education-less person is like an animal.

88. Ek vrikshasamarodha nana varna vihangam, prabhee dashtu dikshu tatra ka paridevna.

Many birds of different color and character rest of a tree at night and in the morning, fly away in different directions. There is no need to mourn it. According to Chanakya, in this world many relatives, near and dear ones are separated on occasions. There is no need to have pained for it.

89. Datratvam priyavaktavyam dheeratvamuchitgyata. Abhyasen na labhyante chatvar sahaja guna.

84. Yasya nasty swayam pragya shastra tasya karoti kim, lochanabhya vihinasya darpanah ki karishyati.

A person who does not have intelligence, how `shastras` could influence and support them. Has a blind any meaning of a mirror?

85. Buddhirasya balam tasya nirbudhvestu kuto balam, bane singho

The desire to give alms, polite speaking, tolerance and knowledge to distinguish between the good and the bad these four points could not be gained with practice. They are the part of the natural tendency of a human being. Chanakya said that giving alms, speeking politely, tolerance and intelligent thoughts are result of the old birth values and blessing of the elders.

The trenchant leader of freedom struggle

Lala Lajpat Rai

Special on the death anniversary of Lala Lajpat Rai

17th November

Chief Central Incharge, Bharat Swabhiman

Rakesh KumarU

Lala struggle, whose name was enough to infuse

Lajpat Rai was an aggressive leader of freedom

inspiration in the people of the country. He had immense love and respect for the country, religion, culture and its values due to which, he sacrificed everything for the cause of the country and ultimately laid the life. His sacrifice, dedication, devotion and nationalism were matchless and incomparable. He was multi-dimensional and had strong talent for literature and writing. He was equally proficient in Urdu and English.

alaji was born on 28 January 1865, in maternal village Dhundhike, district Faridkot in Punjab. His father Lala Radhakrishna was a resident of Jagrao village, in Ludhiana district. He was a teacher by profession. After his son embraced Arya samaj, he showed his keenness to understand philosophical principles of Vedas Traitved ( the combination of the lord, nature and the soul). The curious and inquisitive attitude of Lalaji cast impact on his son too. The education of Lajpat Rai began, when he was 5 years old. In 1880 he cleared the entrance examination of Calcutta and Punjab University but went to Lahore for higher studies. Here, he took admission in the Government College and cleared FA besides other examination in 1882. Here, he came in contact of Arya samaj and was largely influenced. He accepted its membership. The first principal of DAV College, Lahore was Lala Hansraj (who later turned as 44 & yogsandesh & November 2013

Mahatma) who was better known as Hansraj. He was colleague of the renowned Vedic guru Pundit Guruda. He introduced Lala Lajpat Rai with the thoughts, ideas and principles of Maharshi Dayanand. Lala Lajpat Rai, though began his practice as an advocate at Jagrao but since, it was very small town with no prospects of further growth, he moved to Rohtak. The Punjab state at that time comprised of todays Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and an additional part of Punjab, which is in Pakistan now. While practicing in Rohtak, he cleared the advocate examination in 1885 and the next year, he went to Hisar. Till 1892, he stayed in Hisar and was popular as a successful advocate but later he moved to Lahore. Lahore became his centre of public service and activities. Lalaji started social service, while living in Hisar and contributed a lot while executing the schemes of the Arya Samaj workers including Lala Chandulal, Pundit Lakhpat Rai and Lala Chudamani in the interest of the society. But in Lahore, he also got associated with the political activities besides working on social front. In 1988, for the first time he attended Congress convention, held in Allahabad, which was presided over by Mr George Yule. In 1906 he went to England as part of a Congress delegation, being led by Pundit Gopal Krishna Gohkale. Later, he went to America.

Lala Lajpat Rai introduced revolutionary ideology in the Congress with Lokmanya Tilak and Vipin Chandra Pal as his vocal associates. Since its inception in 1885, Congress had the character of a Raj Bhavan for over 20 years. In 1907, when farmers raised their voice for genuine rights, the Government acted swiftly and lodged Lalaji in the Mandle jail in the neighboring country Burma. The suppressive action was opposed vociferously and ultimately, the Government had to withdraw the order. Lalaji returned to the country and was accorded touching welcome. The political story of Lalaji is not only electrifying but also inspires Indians for martyrdom and devotion for the country. Lalaji was not only a political worker or leader but he relentlessly worked for the welfare of the society. Rajasthan faced severe drought condition between 1896- 1899 (which is said to be the drought of `chappan` as it was 1956 in `Vikram samvat`). Lalaji planned for the help of the victims and with the help of Lala Hansraj rushed with the relief to be delivered to the victims. Many innocent orphan children were rescued, who were trapped by the Missionaries and converting them to Christianity. He sent such children to the Arya samajs orphanages in Firozpur and Agra. In 1905 Kangra (Himachal Pradesh) faced severe earthquake flattening many buildings. Lalaji took no time in reaching for the rescue operation along with the students of Lahore DAV College. In 1907-08, Orrisa, Madhya Pradesh and Samyukta Prant (now Uttar Pradesh) faced severe famine situation. Lalaji immediately came forward for the relief of the victims. During the First World War (1914-18), he went to England as a part of a delegation and garnered public mandate in support of the independence. He went to America via Japan and strongly presented view of the independence seeking public before the Americans. In 1928, when Simon British Government appointed Simon Commission came to India, the Congress decided to boycott it. On 30 October 1923, the Commission went to Lahore and foreseeing trouble due to vigorous protest, the administration clamped Section 144. But defying Government ban, thousands of people under the leadership of Lalaji gathered at the Railway Station to waive black flags to the visiting Commission members. The gathered people raised slogan `go back Simon Commission`. When the administration could not control the surging crowd, cane charge was ordered. The British officer Sergeant Sanders hit Lalaji with the lathi on his chest. He was severely injured. But he addressed another massive public meeting, the same evening and roared that every injury on my body would prove to be last nail in the coffin of British rule. Due to internal injury severe fever gripped and after being on bed for next 18 days, he passed away on 17 November 1928.

Lala Lajpat Rais opinion regarding Congresss

It is interesting to know the opinion of the great patriot Lala Lajpat Rai regarding Congress. His views clearly reflect the partys inside condition in pre-independence period. Had the martyr Bhagat Singh liked the Congress, he would not have floated Hindustan Socialist Party. Lala Lajpat Rai has, in his autobiography written that the Congress leaders appears to be more interested in polishing their own image rather than thinking of the nation or the religion. In 1905, when Prince of Wales was arriving India, who later became George Fifth, all the Congress leaders were busy in preparing the draft of his welcome proposal ignoring that a big portion of the nation was in the grip of severe famine conditions. The people were dying of thirst and hunger. Any proposal, the Congress passed expressed extreme dedication towards British rule. In 1905, during Congress convention, again a proposal of similar nature cameup and for the first time, Bal, Pal and Lal opposed it. Bal Gangadhar Tilak said that the Congress has been much dedicated and committed to the Britons hitherto, which needed to be reduced now. Lala Lajpat Rai said in the meeting that Prince of Wales should tell his father in England that the people in India have no feeling of respect for them. But despite it, the senior Congress leaders did not relent. So this was the height of the Congresss devotion for the British rule. Despite Lala Lajpat Rais protest, the proposal to welcome Prince was passed. Lala Lajpat Rai, once on the socalled achievements of the Congress said, what achievement, it is the matter of great shame that in last 21 years, the party could not produce a few of the political sanyasis, who could sacrifice their life for the social upliftment of the country.

But unlike other children he was not interested in routine games. He was observing many things, happening in the neighborhood and many incidents, forced him to question about Hindu religion. One incident was related to Shiv Ratri, when he was just a small child. On the occasion his family stayed in a temple for the night. Though, the entire family slept but not Mool Shankar, as he was expecting that Lord Shiva, himself would appear and accept prasad offered to him. But he was very much surprised to see that the prasad offered to lord Shiva was carried by the mice. His childhood brain was very much surprised and he thought that the lord, who can not protect his prasad can how save the humanity? He debated the issue with his father and made a point that we should not pray such god.

Special on the death anniversary of

Swami Dayanand

Swami Dayanand
A nationalist and true patriot
Childhood

His younger sister and uncle died of diahorrhea and both the incidents shook him. He started thinking deeply on death and birth. In the process, he asked various questions to his parents, which made them worried. His parents decided to marry him in the beginning of teen-age. But Mool Shankar knew that he has other tasks to accomplish and marriage would be a big hurdle. Hence, he left the house quietly in 1846. Maharshi Dayanand was a true idealistic and had intense desire to work to give new direction to the motherland. He deeply thought about the religious, social, economical and the political scenario of the country. Without worried with the opposition and the criticism, he made an objective upliftment of the Hindu community in Aryavart (Bharat).

Ankur Dutta Sevavrati

Maharshi Dayanand was born in Kathiawad (district Rajkot) in Morbi (Mumbais Morvi town) on February 12, 1824. His father was Karshanji Lalji Tiwari while mothers name was Yashoda Bai. His father was tax Collector by job. He was a Brahmin and belonged to a prosperous, rich and influential family. The original name of Dayanand Saraswati was Mool Shankar. Being the beloved of an influential family, Mool Shankar faced no difficulties in the childhood. 46 & yogsandesh & November 2013

Attainment of knowledge

Maharshi Dayanand visited various place in India and on the occasion of Kumbh, he gave discourses. In Kolkata, he told to the then Viceroy I know that the rule of Foreign power is not satisfactory but we have different education system, different languages and different attitude, which is hard to relinquish. And without bringing harmony in these aspects, it is difficult to achieve the target. Founded Arya Samaj for the welfare of the humanity Maharshi Dayanand on Chaitra Shukla Pratipara Samvat 1932 (1875) founded Arya Samaj in Girgaon, Mumbai. He said that the rules and principles of Arya Samaj are for the welfare of the humanity. The

welfare of the society and the world is the prime objective of this Samaj means physical, spiritual and social upliftment.

The first soldier of independence struggle

A great master of Sanskrit with interest in shastrarth (debate)

No religious tracts, except Vedas are the certified documents and to publicize it, he began tour of entire country. He was master of Sanskrit language and spoke it fluently. He had definite arguments too and was interested in debates and discussions. He had deeply and thoroughly studied Christian and Muslim religion spiritual books. This time, was fighting at three fronts singularly. Two fronts were Muslim and Christianity but the third front was against Sanatandharmi Hindus and he had lot of insult, allegations and pains in confronting them. There was no reply to the light of buddhiwad which he had ignited and many intellectuals had, albeit in private, started accepting that Pauranik dharma is superficial, with no depth. In 1872 Swamiji visited Calcutta (now Kolkata) and on the request of Keshavchandra Sen, he started giving lecturers in Hindi. From Calcutta he reached Mumbai and here on April 10, 1875 he declared Arya Samaj. From Mumbai, he went to Delhi and gave lecturers at various places and thereafter visited Punjab. He received overwhelming support in Punjab and the branches of Arya Samaj were established at various places. Since then, Punjab has been a strong fort of Arya Samaj.

Generally Dayanand Saraswati was known as the founder of Arya Smaj and a social worker, but he was the first person to speak that Bharat belongs to Indians and British have no right on it. The script of the first armed freedom struggle against British was written by him. He was the main strategist of the struggle, which shook British Government. In his speech, he always preached nationalism and patriotism and infused the feelings of sacrificing the life, for the sake of the nation. It was he, who thought that an armed revolution against Britons should be launched in the country. To inform and involve soldiers the planning of roti and kamal was also prepared in his guidance. In the entire discussion of revolution, he played a very important role.

Conspiracy to kill

On the invitation of Jodhpur Naresh Maharaja Jaswant Singh, he visited Jodhpur, where he held sermons regularly. But in the palace, he observed the influence of a prostitute Nanhi on Maharaj and her interference in the administration. Swamiji politely asked Maharaj to snap the relationship with her for which he readily agreed. But this made Nanhi his enemy. She lured the cook of Swamiji, Kalia alias Jagganth. He mixed poison in his food due to which boils developed on his entire body. He knew the reason but still did not disclose it with anyone. He was aware that when the people would know the conspiracy, they may attack the cook and hence, he told him to vanish. Although, it later emerged that Munni and Jagganth were mere tools in the hands of the people, who were opposed to his ideology, but by then it was too late. They were jealous of his increasing influence and hence planned his killing. He could not be saved ultimately. Hence the fighter for self-religion, selflanguage, self-nation, self-culture and development of the nation was consigned to flames on October 30, 1883, on the day, when people were observing Diwali festival. Although, he died but his principle Krinvanto Vishwamaryam, means make the entire world as the best place for humanity was inheritaged by a many. His last words were prabhu, tune acchi lila ke, Aapki Iccha purna ho.

Works of social welfare

Maharshi Dayanand was dead against the social evils, misconceptions and other social problems prevailing in the society. He was welcomed as sanyasi yoddha (fighting seer). He suggested varna vyavastha (caste system) on the basis of the karma. He also supported dalits (depressed class) upliftment. He also launched a vigorous campaign in support of the education to women. He staunchly opposed child marriage, sati pratha and supported widow marriage. His philosophy was according to the Vedas. In his books Satyarth Prakash, Sanskar Vidhi and rigvedadi, his views are clearly stated. He was a Yogi, with emphasis on pranayam. His views and teachings are relevant even today.

Modi hundred times better as compared to Rahul

Jabalpur. Yog Guru Swami Ramdevji Maharaj has, while exposing the Congress corruption said that under its rule, the nation is down-sliding and its leaders are good for nothing. While talking about Rahul Gandhi, he said that he does not have any attraction to be elevated as the Prime minister. His mother Sonia Gandhi is ill and Rahul Gandhi lacks charisma. In the present circumstances, Narendra Modi and only Narendra Modi is the best Prime ministerial candidate. He is 100 times better as compared to Rahul Gandhi. While addressing the workers after inaugurating the Bharat Swabhiman Trust office in Amkhera, he said that now politics is not taken as mission. The democracy has become a medium to loot the nation and politics has many persons, who do not have nationalistic sentiments. He said that it is necessary in the given circumstances to vote the right candidate. He said that the electorate should ponder upon the candidates, look for their their background and then vote for the right one. The leaders or their parties, who did not do anything except plundering, should not be rejected at once. While giving `yog diksha`, he said that only yoga could turn the situation to better and hence every person in the country should perform yoga and pranayam daily in the morning. Swamiji Maharaj said that the political leaders have deposited ill-gotten money in the foreign banks and, when only a handful people are living lavish life, the others are finding it difficult to meet both the ends. If the entire money is brought back, the country would be prosperous. He reiterated that he does not intend to jump into the politics arena. His objective behind touring the nation is that the masses march in right direction and work towards the welfare of the country. He called on to support only the candidates in the forthcoming election, who are relentlessly working in the interest of the country and the society. 64 & yogsandesh & November 2013

Bhind. Yog Guru Baba Ramdev has said that till demon forces and corruption are not wiped out of the country, the common man could not live in peace. He said that he would not take rest till every corrupt element is not finished politically. He said Hindustan does not belongs to any individual person but is of 125 crore people. Baba Ramdev was addressing people after a free yoga camp held in depot premises. He said that now the time has come to drive out the corrupt and immoral people to construct a good and prosperous Hindustan. He said that people get chance after every five years. Now the time is approaching and if this time, the train is missed, the nation would be a great suffer. He said that under the present Government, scores of scandals have come up and now it is difficult even to keep count of them. Dhritrashtra is on the throne, who is not able to see, what is happening and is helpless. Swamiji Maharaj reiterated that lakhs of crores of money is deposited in foreign banks and if the political leadership brings the money back, the country would be `sone ki chidiya` again. He said that our fight is with the system and not any individual. But if someone would try to take our rights, we would not sit quiet. In the yoga camp, Mahamandeleshwar Ramdas ji Maharaj Dandraua Maharaj also participated. While addressing, he said that yoga keeps a person healthy. Yoga develops a person physically and mentally. He said that we are fortunate that yoga guru has come here. We welcome him on the arrival.

Panna. Yog Guru Baba Ramdevji Maharaj attended a `yoga diksha and Rashtra Nirman sabha` held under the banner of Bharat Swabhiman Trust and while speaking called on to exercise their franchise in large number to defeat the demons. The program held at the Polytechnic ground here recently. Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev said that there is no secret as who is looting the country. He said that 2013 and 2014 are semi finals and final for the `mahakumbh` of democracy. If we want to establish `Ram Rajya`, we should know how to eliminate demons. He said that I am a son of the motherland and would not spare those, who inflicted wounds on her. He said that the Lord had killed demons with bow, arrow and `sudarshan chakra` but now only a push on the EVM button is sufficient, which would kill all `Tadkas`, `Kans`, `Putnas` and `Ravanas`. He said that the sound emanated from the EVM is the sound of inflicted wounds on the demons. Now who is demon is not needed to explain. He said that I have come to say, just kill the sinners, which the way I have suggested. He said that a few people are involved in looting the nation and now you would have to stand-up to save the nation. Baba said that the people sitting on the top posts are not `arthshastris` but `anarth shastris`. While saying that the present union Government is a Government of corruption, he said that now ABCD has new meanings. He said A stands for Adarsh Housing scandal, B for Bofors, C for Coalgate and D for `Damad` scandal.

Press the EVM button to kill the demons

Modis rule would be without any corruption

Swamiji taught various `asans` to the participants and also revealed its benefits. Swamiji said that Modi is a respected and reputed leader and I could assure the people of the nation that in his rule, there would be no corruption. Corruption has engulfed the development and growth and Modi and Rajnath are trying to sweep it aside. Baba said that in 2013-14, the end of `Tarka` and `Putna` is sure. The people of the nation are aware and they know the value of their votes. He said that in the interest of the nation it is my right to keep my thoughts before the public. If media asks questions regarding leaders, I would reply it. It does not falls under the model code of conduct nor it is its violation.
