Exhibit: Participation in HHHS Book Club Benchmark: Teamwork/Communication Skills: TC105 Express ones point of view in a teamwork setting

Expressing your point of view in a teamwork setting is a very important aspect of being a useful and contributing member of a team. In order to foster a teams growth and positive change, you must be able to express your point of view, and articulate the reasoning behind that point of view. I have done this quite often through my participation in the HHHS Book Club. In the Book Club, we read literature, watch movies based upon literature, and share our opinions regarding said material. In other words, we express our point of view in a teamwork setting. Ive displayed this skill through my involvement in Book Club in one very specific way. Through reading literature, one develops a personal opinion regarding many aspects of said literature. The purpose of this club is to share these opinions in a group setting so as to expose ourselves to differing opinions and viewpoints. This greatly helped me to better display this skill not only in that setting, but also in many other settings. To conclude, expressing ones point of view in a teamwork setting is absolutely crucial to my life now and beyond in several ways. It is crucial now because, as a member (and leader) of several teams, I must be able to express my point of view while also being able to listen and value the points of view of others. The same principle applies to my future career. In order to be a good and effective elected official, I must be able to express my point of view in order to positively impact my team, while also listening to the points of view of others in order to foster dialogue and understanding.
