Pendidikan Sepanjang Hayat (Life-long learning)

Pemerolehan pengetahuan, kemahiran dan kompetensi seseorang itu menghabiskan tuntutan ilmu secara formal. Proses pembelajaran seseorang secara berterusan yang terdiri daripada latihan, pembangunan diri dan pembelajaran (secara formal atau tidak formal) yang bertujuan sama ada untuk meningkatkan kemahiran atau membangunkan kerjaya dalam sesuatu bidang pekerjaan pada masa sekarang ataupun pada masa depan.

Australian man becomes world's oldest graduate at 97

Allan Stewart, who entered the Guinness World Records in 2006 when he completed a law degree at the age of 91, is graduating in clinical science from Southern Cross University. This is his fourth degree after completing dentistry in 1936. He went back to school in his 80s to keep himself mentally active. Mr Stewart, who was born in 1915, has six children, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchilden. He worked as a dentist and earned his second degree in dental surgery. Mr Stewart said people were never too old to study. "It is never too late to expand your mind, make new friends and challenge yourself to achieve something worthwhile."

84-year-old graduate gets his PhD at Edinburgh Napier University

David Dick, who left school at 14, received his award at Edinburgh Napier University's graduation ceremony at the Usher Hall. Dr Dick, who trained to be an engineer before embarking on a career in education, described his student experience as "wonderful". Born in 1929, Dr Dick grew up in Edinburgh's Meadowbank. His PhD is his fifth university qualification. He also has a masters in history and has written and published six books, most of which focus on the origins of Edinburgh's street names. Professor Dame Joan Stringer, principal and vice-chancellor of Edinburgh Napier University, said: "It is a great pleasure to see David collect his PhD today, a significant achievement proving you are never too old to learn.
