METHODSTATEMENTS

1.

PURPOSE : The purpose of this procedure is to provide the details of installation of High mast System & other miscellaneous items like wire ropes, Trailing cables, winch, Motors, Head frame, Luminarie carriages etc.

2. SCOPE: This procedure covers methods of installation of High mast and other miscellaneous items. .13. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . . !o not stand under the load and within the operating radius of cranes ". ". #heck $uality si%e and condition of all chain pulley blocks, slings, &'clamps, !'shackles, wire ropes etc. The same should not be damaged (. (. Safe working load shall be marked on all lifting e$uipments. ). ). #rane and all lifting gears should be tested by competent person. *. *. +roper ,uiding and Signaling to #rane -perator. .. .. Tag line to be used during loading / unloading / shifting the material. 0. 0. Tag line to be used during erection of High mast Tower. 1. 1. 2ll electrical connections must be away from water sources. 3. 3. 4outine wise checking s/cleaning of all electrical panels should be made as per check list.

5. 5. 4outine wise electrical safety audit should be made as per checklist. . . +roper checking of ear thing connection should be made and 6L#7 to be provided on outgoing cable. ". ". 8ire e9tinguisher should be available at work site. 2. 4. CONTROLLING SPECIFICATIONS: The procedure is in accordance with applicable codes, specifications, contract documents & approved drawings.

$. PROCE%URE: A 2ll items are to be located as per layout drawing. A +rior to installation, items shall be checked for correctness > type, model, area classification, etc. A 2ll supporting / mounting structures shall be with proper surface preparation prior to installation. A 6nsure for correct si%e, type of Trailing cables, correct si%e wire ropes, and correct ratings motors, winches > si%e, and other High mast accessories.'High mast data sheet inserted. A &se correct si%e HardwareBs for fi9ing and mounting the ?inches, Motors, ?ire rope and #able clamps, Switch sockets etc. A #heck for earthing as per standard. 2lso check earth continuity. 6ach mast will be provided with lightening protection system, 6arth point shall be tested strictly in accordance with the re$uirements until the re$uired figure of 5 ohms obtained. A #urrent & voltage of all the phases shall be measured at the lighting panel with all the circuits switched on with lamps. <f re$uired load shall be balanced on the three phases. A 6nsure that proper mounting arrangements of ?inch mounting bracket, and 7oard Mounting brackets, and Head frame, Cunction 7o9 with receptacles, Luminaries carriage etc. A 4efer High mast installation and commissioning manual. A 2fter satisfactory completion of above process system / e$uipment can be charged. A +roper documentation shall be maintained. A 8or assembling the mast, relevant pages of 6rection and -peration Manual attached. A Mast 2lignment > Spirit Level used on leveling nuts before erection & #hecking of Lantern #arriage movement after 6rection. A 4emoval of Tie 4ope > @ylon 4ope tied to the #rane HookBs #lamp, 2fter 6rection 4ope is pulled & Hook is lowered, Sling automatically move out of hook.

RESPONSI'ILITIES: &.1 PRO(ECT )ANAGER The responsibility of ensuring the implementation of this Method Statement lies with +ro=ect Manager, 6lectricals Limited, &.2. *C ENGINEER D# 6ngineer shall be responsible but not limited to the following activitiesE <dentify and reporting to +M for any non conformance #ontrol point clearance with contractor. To issue @#4Bs when and where re$uired and to check that the construction department provided timely appropriate corrective and preventive action. 2ccompany the Site 6ngineer / Supervisors representative and D2/D# 6ngineer of #ontractor, to carry out the inspection at various stages i.e. after delivery during High mast and luminaires 4eview all documentation and test / check list reports issued by Site 6ngineer and submit records to the D2/D# 6ngineer of contractor. Feeping a daily log of the entire <nspection 4e$uest submitted by the Site 6ngineer. #arry out statistical analysis of the inspection and test result to improve $uality control operation on site, to verify testing / checking compliance and to advise the Site 6ngineer of the results.

&. 3. SITE ENGINEER Site 6ngineer shall be responsible but not limited to the following activitiesE To ensure that the relevant +ro=ect Specification, 2pproved Method Statement and 2pproved shop drawings are available in coordination with #onstruction Manager and D# 6ngineer. To check the access and area for conduit prior to shifting and fi9ing of it and to report discrepancy if any to the D# engineer. To ensure safe unloading / shifting of High mast and luminiares during delivery and lying at site. To ensure that the High mast and luminaries work is done at site as per approved shop drawings, and Technical Specification. To inform all concerned parties for any inspection / test as re$uired in coordination with the Site Manager and D# 6ngineer. To check and perform that all the laying is carried out e9actly in line with the +ro=ect Specifications. Site engineer will submit the #heck list for High mast shaft and luminaires to the D2/D# 6ngineer for review and approval

As per the Technical Report No.7 the maximum permissible limit of deflection for 30 mtr., High mast is 7 0mm in ser!iceabilit" limit state or in general as follo#s : $% &eflection is to be chec'ed at the ()3 of the design #ind speed. (% &eflection at the top most point is not be more than $)*0 of the mast height.

+ethodolog": The Theor" Right angled triangle #as used for plotting the actual position of the High +ast and the difference of the actual position and assumed position #as measured in the Auto ,A&. -rom this triangle the hori.ontal distance and the !ertical angle to the top of the High mast #as measured #ith high precision electronic Total /tation #ith an accurac" of $0. The Total /tation #as set up in a suitable place in such a #a" that the !ertical angle to the top of the mast could be measured easil". The hori.ontal distance from the pole to the Total /tation #as measured b" holding 1rism 1ole #ith prism close to the foot of the mast. This hori.ontal distance and the !ertical angle #as measured and noted. This method is repeated three times and an a!erage of these measurements #ere used to plot the position of the mast. The difference bet#een the actual position and assumed position is the difference in the !erticalit" of the High +ast.

METHOD STATEMENTS FOR LUMINAIRES 1. PURPOSE : The purpose of this procedure is to provide the details of installation of Luminaires 2. SCOPE: This procedure covers methods of installation of Lighting and other miscellaneous items. 3. CONTROLLING SPECIFICATIONS: The procedure is in accordance with applicable codes, specifications, contract documents & approved drawings. 4. PROCE%URE: A 2ll items are to be located as per layout drawing. A +rior to installation, items shall be checked for correctness > type, model, area classification, etc. A 2ll supporting / mounting structures shall be painted with proper surface preparation prior to installation. A 6nsure for correct si%e, type of cablingP correct glanding > si%e, type, area classificationP termination, ferruling. A #heck for earthing as per standard <S (5)( ' 310. 2lso check earth continuity. A #heck <4 value of all items. 8or lighting without lamps > phase to phase, phase to neutral, phase / neutral to earth. A Lighting items shall be numbered & counted as per layout drawing. A #urrent & voltage of all the phases shall be measured at the lighting panel with all the circuits switched on with lamps. <f re$uired load shall be balanced on the three phases. A Lighting illumination level shall be measured in the area. A 6nsure that switch provided for -@/-88 control point is only on L<I6 side. A 6nsure that all spare entries to e$uipment are plugged with correct plug. A 2fter satisfactory completion of above process system / e$uipment can be charged. A +roper documentation shall be maintained. *: Lu9 Level MeasurementE A Lu9 level measurement shall be done at 5 9 5 meter grid at working height. & " meter at Iertical height. A Luminiare 2ngle shall be set by using the protractor scale provided in luminaires, as per the lighting design.
