PROCEDURES Introduction / Lesson Set The teacher will do an icebreaker activity to get to know each other before the lesson. Five questions about you: Name, Grade, Favorite Subject, Future Career Possibility, Favorite Artist in Art. Then the teacher will ask a question, what are the three primary colors, the secondary colors, and what are analogous colors? To assess prior knowledge of the color theory. After answer and discussion, the teacher will begin the lesson. Body and Transitions Closure The students will clean brushes in sink and place their color wheels on a drying rack. Students then will return to their seats and be dismissed after they are quiet. The teacher instructs students to get the materials for lesson (brushes, paint, water, paper, and newspaper) The teacher begins to show primary colors, secondary colors, and tertiary colors on color wheel. The teacher demonstrates how to mix paint colors together. The teacher demonstrates how to paint color wheel The teacher allows for questions and guided instruction

ASSESSMENT Diagnostic The teachers questions to assess prior knowledge about colors, what colors mix to make certain colors, and various color schemes. Formative The color wheel assignment was evaluated as completed correctly and properly. Summative The teacher assisting the students with color wheel and insuring that they understand the topic to the fullest extent possible.

MATERIALS Acrylic Paint (Three colors Blue, Yellow, and Red) Paint Brushes Cardstock Worksheet Newspapers (for laying on the tables beneath work) Brown Paper towels Water

EXTENDED ACTIVITIES If Student Finishes Early The student will see if they can assist anyone at their table with the color wheel or cleaning up process. If Lesson Finishes Early The students will clean up their materials and areas. If time permits students will talk about their color wheels with the class and discuss any problems they came across and how they rectified them. Then students will place their works in the drying rack. POST-TEACHING Reflections I feel the timing of my lesson was good. However, the pacing for various groups was inconsistent. Some children got bored waiting on the other children and decided to go forward in the lesson without really knowing what to do. Also the complete color wheel display on the board was not a good idea. This helped them go forward but did not instruct them on the appropriate shading/hue of the color and therefore they messed up and had to be helped to correct the problem.
