Dance Majors

Academic classes in dance history and human anatomy complement studio courses in: modern dance ballet Asian dance African dance Improvisation Composition The faculty members are dancers with discipline, choreographers, and educators who encourage both cognitive and creative talents. The curriculum involves guest teachers and master classes with visiting dance companies. Instructors continue to push the traditional dances. The learning and dance environment teaches students to, develop, strive, and venture beyond the expected. All courses are open to both majors and non-majors. Performance Opportunities/Tickets Each year, opportunities to choreograph and perform include one main stage concert, two informal concerts, and periodic studio showings by students and faculty. Physical Education Course Offerings: Ballroom Dance, Aerobic Dance, Jazz Dance, Modern Dance, Ballet, Exploration in Movement, Tap Dance.
