PROCEDURES Introduction / Lesson Set The teacher will begin by asking a question, Who is Van Gogh? to assess prior knowledge of Vincent Van Gogh and his works. After the students answer and discuss, the teacher will begin the lesson beginning with a movie. Body and Transitions The teacher has students take notes. The teacher shows the movie. After movie is complete. The teacher opens PowerPoint and begins PowerPoint on Van Gogh, his works, and style of painting. The teacher finishes PowerPoint The teacher gives students a KWL worksheet to complete. EXTENDED ACTIVITIES If Student Finishes Early The student will clean up his or her space and materials. Then the student will return to their seat and prepare their lesson materials to be turned in and study for the test. If Lesson Finishes Early The students will clean up their space and materials. Then students will critique each others Van Gogh like works. Then the students will place their works in the drying rack.

POST-TEACHING Reflections The timing of the lesson went very well. I think that they enjoyed the movie and learning about Van Gogh. I think the only things that could have been changed would have been to shorten the movie even more. Also, to split the PowerPoint into two different presentations or to change the review material to the end instead of throughout the presentation. Data Based Decision Making Based on the lesson, which provides data from start to finish. The students started with little to no knowledge of Vincent Van Gogh and they all ended with knowledge of Van Gogh and his works. All but two students passed the test at the end with a ninety percent or higher. The two students who did not had a seventy-five percent and an eighty percent.
