Prides are family units that may include up to three males, a dozen or so females, and their young. All of a pride's lionesses are related, and female cubs typically stay with the group as they age. Young males eventually leave and establish their own prides by taking over a group headed by another male.
HABITATS
Lions are mainly found in Africa but can also be seen in India and parts of Asia. They like the hot places like the Sahara in Africa and the dryer regions. Lions Live in groups called prides and find a place to live for the rest thir lives. The females are the ones that hunt while the male take care of the cubs.
The mane of the adult male lion, unique among cats, is one of the most distinctive characteristics of the species. It makes the lion appear larger, providing an excellent intimidation display; this aids the lion during confrontations with other lions and with the species' chief competitor in Africa, the spotted hyena.
