January 13, 2014 Dear Stanton Foundation: On behalf of the Towns Dog Park Advisory Committee, I am pleased to forward to you for your consideration, the Committees recommended design consultant. At a meeting on Thursday January 9th, the DPAC voted unanimously to recommend Places Associates, Inc. as the design consultant. This recommendation was based upon interviewing a total of three RFP responses. In the opinion of the DPAC, Places Associates will provide this project the best position for success based upon several local issues, particularly the sensitivity of the sites proximity to an adjacent public drinking water wellfield and the associated specialized engineering that will be required to not only satisfy the Chelmsford Water District but the Chelmsford Conservation Commission and the Mass. Department of Environmental protection. In addition, Places Associates experience includes dog related facilities and municipal projects such as schools and associated recreational facilities. Finally, Places Associates incorporates a number of different team members consisting of a Landscape Architect, Civil Engineer, a Land Surveyor and a Veterinarian.
