A Girl Like You I didn't own many guitars and I knew I needed a Gibson for this track.

Luckily, there was a music shop near the studio where I picked up a used 1 !" Les #aul with $i%ar&io pickups. It had a thick and hea'y sound, e(actly what I needed. )d had me play the rhythm part e(actly the same way on four separate tracks to get that sound. I'm pretty sure I used a 1**+watt ,** series %arshall, which is my standard go+to amp. #at played the harmony guitar along with me on the last part of the solo, probably using his -ender .tratocaster. -or the 11 tour and the /0 performances on Saturday Night Live and the The Arsenio Hall Show featuring 1A Girl Like You,1 I decided to use my 1 ,! Gibson .G out of con'enience. I didn't want to bring the Les #aul on the road. /o confuse people e'en more, I used a 1 ,, /u(edo 2ickenbacker for the %/0+aired 'ideo of the song3 #eople used to ask me, 14ow did you get that sound out of a 2ickenbacker51 I would 6ust say, 1#lug it into a %arshall and turn it up to 1131 7ow you know the truth8 It was a Les #aul through a %arshall ,** with the master 'olume on " and the #re+Amp on ,, 9uadruple tracked
