7th Grade: Biomedical Science

COURSE DESRCIPTION: Seventh Grade Biomedical Science is an integrated classroom and laboratory course which introduces students to the role of biotechnology in Health Care; including biomedical research, gene mapping and forensic science. Students will become familiar with the techniques and skills required of successful laboratory technicians in any scientific field. Students will also become better prepared for success in higher level secondary courses in both science and Career and Technical Education. GRADING: Participation Daily Assignments, including worksheets and projects Laboratory Notebooks Tests and Quizzes
Grades may be checked through Power School.

*If you are absent, it is your responsibility to see me about missed assignments.
Most laboratory work cannot be made up. Please ask me about alternative assignments. All Make-Up work will be turned in to the PURPLE Make-Up work folder on the bulletin board by my desk. CLASS RULES: 1. TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WISH TO BE TREATED. 2. COME TO CLASS READY TO PARTICIPATE AND LEARN. 3. DO YOUR BEST ON ALL YOUR WORK. 4. NO FOOD, DRINKS OR GUM. 5. FOLLOW ALL LAB SAFETY PROCEDURES.

CLASS PROCEDURES: 1. PLACE BACKPACKS ON TABLE NEAR DOOR 2. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS THE FIRST TIME THEY ARE GIVEN 3. WHEN YOU COME IN, READ THE BOARD AND DO THE BELL WORK IMMEDIATELY 4. SHARPEN PENCILS BEFORE CLASS BEGINS 5. NO HORSEPLAY! This is a science laboratory 6. SIGN THE TARDY BOOK IF YOU ARE LATE. PUT HALL PASS IN THE BASKET IF YOU HAVE ONE. 7. YOUR LAB STATION AND GROUP NUMBER IS ON YOUR TABLE 8. BATHROOM PASSES ARE GIVEN ONLY IN AN EMERGENCY. THIS IS ONLY A 40 MINUTE CLASS. 9. ALL MAKE UP WORK GOES INTO THE PURPLE FOLDER ON THE BOARD TO BE GRADED 10. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE IN THEIR SEATS FOR THE CLASS TO BE DISMISSED CONSEQUENCES: 1. VERBAL WARNING 2.
