Intro to Sodium gluconate

Sodium gluconate is the sodium salt of gluconic acid, produced by fermentation of glucose. It is a white to tan, granular to fine, crystalline powder, very soluble in water. Non corrosive, non toxic and readily biodegradable (98% after 2 days), sodium gluconate is more and more appreciated as chelating agent. Sodium gluconate is a compound with formula NaC6H11O7. It is the sodium salt of gluconic acid. It has the E number E576. Sodium gluconate is widely used in textile dyeing, printing and metal surface water treatment. It is also used as a chelating agent, a steel surface cleaning agent, a cleaning agent for glass bottles, and as a chelating agent for cement, plating and alumina dyeing industries. It is a white colorless powder that is very soluble in water. Due to its unique properties, sodium Gluconate can be used in a wide variety of applications such as food industry, medicine, cosmetics, detergents, agrochemicals, paints, inks, paper, textiles, construction chemicals etc.

Applications * Used in the medicine or used as food additives. * Used as water quality stabilizer or inhibitor. * Metal cleaning agent . * Glass bottle cleaners. * Water reducing agent/retarder. * Used in plating and film.
