The Make-up of Matter does Matter!

By Austin

I claim that matter is in everything. To start off, you cannot destroy or create matter and you can not see some matter. Matter can be transferred from different types of matter. Matter takes on the form of solids, liquids, and gases and there is a non-Newtonion liquid. In conclusion, everything contains matter. If there was no matter in the universe you, and I would not be alive matter and nothing would exist. The pH chart helped us gure out the pH States of matter level of different substances. The pH 14 is the most dangerous. When we mixed baking soda and coffee together and we ended up with a pH of 14. When we mixed two higher leveled substances the pH turned into a lower pH. Some substances pH levels are affected more than others. When we mixed baking soda and H2O, the pH level was eight. When jada went to the ocean, salt water got into her eyes and her eyes turned red and felt like they were burning. Her tears are a pH of 6 , and the salt water is going to be a pH of about 8 to 10. When you are swimming and you get pool water into your mouth your rst reaction is to spit it out. Chlorine water has a pH level of 7.5 and it is not good for your body. We mixed iodine salt and and baking soda and it became a pH of 12. When you mix two substances that have the same pH level, the pH will stay the same. Your saliva in your throat has a pH of ve to six. When you drink a different substance it temporarily changes your pH. My experience is when I drink soda, my mouth gets full of zz, and my salivas pH is 4.5. When you throw up your pH level is temporarily changed to one, that's why it hurts your throat. When we were doing the pH test, all of the soda's had citric acid them and were all a pH of four. When we did the pH test, the lemon juice had a pH of three. Vinegar has a pH of two. In conclusion, there are many different pH levels. ! How does temperature change? I claim that when we put the vinegar in the steel wool the temperature rose. My furnace turns on and heats the house because of wood, oil, natural gas, geothermal, solar energy, or biomass. When your body digests it creates heat. When your heart pumps it also creates heat. When a cars engine creates friction it also creates heat and that warms your car. In conclusion, heat is created in different ways. ! I claim that magnetic elds pull and push each other and attract different metals such as iron. You can not always see the magnetic elds such as black holes in space. Positives do not attract another

positive, but a negative can attract a positive. Magnetic elds can be as small as an atom, or as big as a star. We do not know everything about magnetic elds. ! Borlaug, Mendeleev, and Curie were great scientists. Borlaug and his staff in Mexico! almost 20 years growing wheat that had a high protein content to keep from starvation. Mendeleev was the scientist who created the rst periodic table of the elements. Marie curie discovered two new radioactive elements called polonium and radium. In conclusion these scientists discovered many things. The periodic table of the elements shows many of the elements. Mendeleev was the rst person to make a periodic table of the elements. The elements are shown by a letter. They are ordered by their atomic number. They are grouped by alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transitional metals, other metals, and noble gasses. For my Layar project I researched gold. Gold is a very malleable and heavy metal. It is a transitional metal and it has been used for coinage, jewelry, etc. even before recorded h i s t o r y. W e w i l l continue to create and discover new elements and add them to the periodic table of the elements. All in all, we can not live without matter. !
