American Cancer Society Screening Guidelines for Early Detection of Cancer

The following American Society screening guidelines for early detection of cancer are recommended for those people at risk for cancer:

Breast Cancer
Yearly mammograms starting at age 40 Clinical breast exam about e ery ! years for women in their "0#s and !0#s and e ery year for women 40 and o er$ %reast self&exam is encouraged for all women starting in their "0#s

Colon and Rectal Cancer

Prostate Cancer
%oth ,SA - prostate&specific antigen. blood test and digital rectal examination should be preformed e ery year( beginning at age '0( to men who ha e at least a )0 year life expectancy( African&American men and men with a strong family history of prostate cancer should begin testing at age 4'$

Cervical Cancer
