Geosphere Time: 50 minutes Teacher: Mrs Clarissa Whiting

END OF LESSON GOALS This lesson is focused on tying in all the last three topics to enhance the students learning by viewing short You Tube clips. RESOURCES REQUIRED FOR LESSON: Projector Computer with access to internet to bring up You Tube clips CURRICULUM OUTCOMES AND OBJECTIVES: Understand how theories and models have developed based on evidence from multiple disciplines; and the uses and limitations of Earth and environmental science knowledge in a range of contexts Use science inquiry skills to collect, analyze and communicate primary and secondary data on Earth and environmental phenomena; and use these as analogues to deduce and analyze events that occurred in the past Evaluate, with reference to empirical evidence, claims about the structure, interactions and evolution of Earth systems Outcomes taken from: http://www.australiancurriculum.edu.au Assessment of the outcomes: Student observations during lesson. Safety and Risk assessment: N/A INTRODUCTORY PHASE: Time Teacher direction/ activity / instruction: Student activity / what students are doing: Students to be sitting down in TV room Check understanding / ICT and other key questions / manage resources the learning:

Did they find one more useful than the other? The first clip had great analogies for the Earth inner core; did this help the students?
